I agree that they did it because they want to release updates faster and easier, I still prefer quality>quantity tho.
What you specifically prefer has no bearing on anyone or anything but yourself, the only people that get to dictate what Zion needs to do is his patreon followers, not people that "concern troll" all day long how the game "back in my time the game used to be good!", bitching about how the game has gone to shit yet coming back each and every update.
Sad to say as a fan since 2019 but this game is becoming more and more of a inconsistent mess.
Actually the game has never been more coherent, the fact that it has art from others that covers almost entirely artwork that doesn't have anything to do with Succubi, Angels and love interests doesn't make the game an "inconsistent mess"
When the animations got removed people were mad, but at the end of the day ppl accepted that and expected well drawn images to continue.
The animation was removed specifically because Zion wanted to avoid the "inconsistent mess" you just cried about, imagine having animation for half the game only, it would be very confusing.
Succubuses used to have a minimum of 2 well drawn images per scene & these images could range up to 6! (Not incl the full body png or final bosses) even npcs looked amazing!
They still have at least 2 well drawn images, the literally only succubi that had a lot more was the Spider succubi, mostly because it was the first introduction to the insect clan so Zion actually went overboard which he realized because it took Kain almost 2 months just to draw all the images for her alone.
Then we slowly went from that to I kid you not 1/2 image scenes that look alright (for the most part)
This is a flat out lie, unless you are using your subjective reasoning for saying you just dont like the new art, in which case you could easily argue the opposite. I could just as easily say i don't like Kains art so to me we went from 0(zero) good drawn images to 2 or more with the new art.
and npcs that look awful.
Once again if you want to jack off to random NPCs i guess you are shit out of luck, personally and according to most of his patreons they would rather good art be spent on the succubi, not random NPCs.
(Mostly copypasted from warlock saga) It's almost as if hes trying to skip having to make art for each one of the games seperately and hit two birds with one stone which makes no sense since these games are COMPLETELY different.
I really dont get this, i couldn't give less of a fuck who draws these guys.
In fact i'd prefer if main artist didn't waist his time on them and focused just on the stuff i play the game for.
Yea which is why he has hired another artist to make even more art for Warlock Saga and future spin off games and i am gonna risk Zion getting angry at me for showing it, but fuck it, i just love rubbing it into peoples faces when they are blatantly wrong about shit they know nothing about.
There's always gonna be white knights (totally not porn jesus) facepalming at the facts & defending this game because of dumb reasons like "if u cant make better game... then no critique it!!"...
And there will always be haters not knowing shit about what they are talking about and just being butthurt at changes that were outside of Zions control to begin with and always find new reasons to bitch and whine about.
It's basically a fuck u to whoever hated cyberpunk lol. But I think Zion needs some criticism so it might improve.
Oh dont worry about that, he has you blocked so he can't even see your posts, but even if he still did the criticism from his patreons is what really matters to him. Zion gets criticism and adjusts, which is why the game went from being updated every 8-10 months to 3-4 months, but that criticism mostly comes from people that pay him to make the game for them, not some rando pirates that are upset that the previous artist quit because he hurt his hand and Zion had to scramble quick to find an replacement for him which is entirely his fault because he didn't find a replacement that meets your specific standards.
One thing i will never understand, there are quite a few games on this website that i got really disappointed in for various reasons, which is why i said what i had to say about them and never looked back, but with this game i noticed that a lot of people get upset about it mostly for reasons that are out of Zions control like the artist quitting due to injury and animator quitting due to not wanting to be tied down to animating the game but doing what he wants to do in his free time, it's truly fascinating.
