Since he is on f95zone and he don't seem to be angry about some guys playing the game without paying.
I'm a patreon of course, but i have no problem that some guys can have the game i payed for if they cannot paid.

That doesn't make it free.^^ He gets robbed but probably learned from other people that it's a waste of time and money to play police and find all the uploaders. Then to pile them all up legally and deal with them in one swift stroke in the court, what a nightmare this would be to endure. Waste of time.
Zion just accepts that some of his profit goes up in smoke and is using this platform as free advertising. So in the end, if done correctly, he doesn't lose money at all or just a little.

I think differently : Zion know that pirate, like us on this site, have ethics. We pay when it is good, we stole when it's not good. He knows that his game is awesome, so he will get tons of pirate who will patreon him instead of stealing him.

Can't help you if you only upload the save file. Afaik you also need to add the config and global files to it or the save won't show.

Bro...If you can download the entire trilogy of mgq for free i don't think SC will be too difficult to download for free, Zion is just putting his hands forward letting people play for free, eventually someone will join Patreon, also Patreons have the right to ask for changes and early access to new characters and updates.
