didn't have enough time to figure out controls let alone figure out if I was having fun or understood the objectives even after trying my best to understand the directions....

Pretty much yeah. No full autonomy; just basic NPC programming like stand up, walk and etc.
The AI itself is not fully fleshed out.

Those are the screenshots on the official steam page, they're actually horrible
It is just a couple of assets poorly stitched together.
Models are default, bold with no textures loaded.
While I was trying to figure out how to switch to VR and navigate my way through insanely dumb control scheme, freaking TIME RAN OUT and it just made me exit.
Btw being a “slime” is not a ”promising idea” it is just a super lazy blob you do not have to animate or code.
