3 or 4 is too low. You're not considering draw potential.I came from a Magic the Gathering backdrop. To me the squeezers are lands providing mana. They of course do more but that's how I first saw them being used. Later it was obvious without anything to spend the energy on, they were killing me just as fast. I couldn't justify having more than 3 or 4 in a deck and kept the card cost down to 1 and 2 so I could hit the opponent hard. It doesn't always work, specially when a curse card turns my few squeezers against me. Can't guard against everything. Mostly with that lower number of squeezers, I used the idol to develop leg attacks. That mechanic was key for me.
People put 10-12 in their deck not because they expect to play all 12, but because they need to be able to draw squeezers relatively consistently. With 3 or 4, you'll only have your partner in your hand and maybe 1 other squeezer out on the field, which severely limits your play options. Too few is bad because you won't have the resource to play your cards. Too many is bad because you'll kill yourself faster than the enemy can.
Just... don't forget that you should be squeezing the enemy to gain your resource, not always squeezing yourself.
