To be fair, that's just good practice in any game.I can do nothing but applaud the developers ingenuity to whack the damned RPGM into it's proper place. I played way too many RPGM games (erotic and regular alike) to know that to ensure proper player experience, you need to get rid off almost every useless feature, limit the playing field, forget world maps and shit alike. If you guys haven't noticed, the barkeeping minigame is a carefully utilized RPGM combat system. Absolutely brilliant
You never want engine artifacts to decide mechanics. It's limiting and will severely inhibit your ability to make the gameplay loop engaging because it'll limit your ability to alter the mechanics to better suit the context.
The game should fit the story, the story should fit the game, and the mechanics need to serve both. If the story or game are serving the mechanics, you've fucked up somewhere.
