Hey if the developer is here I have a question, I'm not sure if it has been asked and forgive me for retreading. But I was wondering will there ever be a route where we can be with IO without the mind control/overtly sexual themes. I know it's weird asking for a porn game to have a less sexualized route, but I really like the characters and the writing! I especially love the interactions between IO and Catherine as it genuinely good writing and fun moments with the two!

Of course I know that if it was true it would be put on the back burner, even if it was considered. I just wanted to know if he ever thought about or planned for a more, in my words, wholesome and sweet route. Hope the game goes well and you make sure not to burnout!

With the first big milestone reached, I'm wondering how much of the game is left. I feel like Catherine general corruption is about to reach the final stage where she'll finally let all the chuds and cyborgs indulge themselves in her body, perhaps the other girls corruption storyline will be the focus?

*elusive justifications*
I like your game for what it is, I still believe you're cultured person and there's some thoughts put behind all this, I really think there's a lot of positive, but I also believe you're not working on it as much as you should, giving the bite size content that get delivered over such a long period of time, and I will definitely not believe this is some sort of charity you're doing (if you ever get tired of making porn go try your hand in politics).

Just enjoy free money like everyone else, if Darkcookie can get away with 60k per month without doing anything, why couldn't you ? peoples are just dumb and gullible, go exploit them, if they are dumb enough to pay for that kind of behaviour they absolutely deserve to be stripped down of everything they own. and if my memory serve me right, Patreon is taking around 8% of all transactions, maybe it doesn't feel much for you right now, but at some point you should consider moving to subscribestar instead (or ko-fi) more money !

So, uh, it's been busy here.
I release the game for free because I don't want to lock the content behind a paywall. The game isn't finished. I'm constantly making changes and breaking things. Pretty much all the money the game does make goes into art, voice acting, the new pixel art, and the occasional programmer help. If I ever really make any money off this it'll be from a Steam release. I doubt it'll ever be anything more than a fun project that paid for itself. I do intend on finishing the game. I dislike disappointing people and I don't like leaving things unfinished. The game will end and the funding will stop regardless of how much money it's making at that time. I have a reputation to uphold after all. You don't want to burn your bridges by leaving a game unfinished for years and years and years leading people on while getting free money... and...
As for support you can always do a one time donation on Itch, but Patreon does take a smaller cut than Itch does. But really at this stage of development just spreading the word is more than enough.

I have no intention of getting Annica back on the drink again. That's more just story for why the mechanics might avoid the bar. Long term that rent increase will be causing everyone to look for new sources of income. But May will have her own issues with her security staff no longer settling for the occasional down blouse shot...
Bro, don't even bother. These guys don't care about you, they just want to complain about not being spoonfed max effort content for minimal cost.

So far no one has complained about not being spoon-fed max effort, afaik.

One guy said, he'd like to make a one time purchase, but since it's not possible, he'd have to resort to pirating.

Some of us replied to that and talked about the general nature of porn games, porn devs and payments.

And the payment talk led to someone stating, that monthly donations often don't translate to max output (which, frankly, often is the case, even in non-porn projects - but we can all clearly see it in a lot of porn projects, since that's what f95 is all about).

But again, more general talk - as can be found in many other threads.

And LimeJuiceGames seems to be pretty reasonable and collected and will take from this discussion what they deem to be helpful (see their recent reply).
They're one of the few devs, that don't need to be treated with kid gloves.
So even though they'll surely appreciate your pep talk, they seem to be able to handle all of this by themselves, easily. ;)

I'd honestly put the general progress of the game as average when we look at porn games as a whole. It took 2 years to reach the first sex scene but there's a good chunk of content to read before that; barring some sudden engine change or something I'd say it's too soon to accuse Lime of Patreon milking. When we look at other games progress (even Japanese ones) Succum general advancement isn't egregious or amazing.

One particular person is complaining that there's a brief delay between the current build being released to backers and it being posted here.
"Spoon-fed max effort" != "instant f95 release"

The "spoon-fed max effort" was Karnewarrior's reaction to kopiluwak's post, who said, that most devs don't seem to put in 100% effort when receiving monthly donations. At least, that's how I read it.

And in a later post it was made clear, that that was a general statement and not aimed at Lime and they'd be OK with Lime receiving as many donations as there were people willing to pay (mind you, it was a tad exaggerated/sardonic, imho, but it didn't feel mean spirited towards Lime).

So, it was just a little chat about the general state of affairs between some fellow pervs, that seems to have come across as less general to some other members. No harm done. We all seem to like Lime and seem to be OK with the pace of development. It's just in the details, that some folks would like to see things change/improve - and I feel like that's reasonable and exactly the reason we have threads like this going - at least I enjoy those convos way more than the umpteenth request for a full save and the question of "is pregnancy in this a mechanic or game over only?" :p

I was talking about this post, a few pages back-

like half a month ?

1 it's a warez site, this is the whole purpose of this forum to share, always as been for the last 20 years.
2 promoting your game on a warez site and keeping your main source of advertisment on the backseat is kind of ungrateful
3 art and culture are meant to be shared and enjoyed by everyone, you're not harming the dev, you're helping him.
4 pirates would never have bought the game anyway, it's not a loss, if you enjoy the game you support it, if you can't you don't.
Kopiluwak was upset they have to wait two weeks to get the current build because they're not financially contributing to the development of the game.

In situations where the developer provides the current build for free, with a short delay, while paying contributors get early access, you don't have much room to complain and begging for a pirated copy of that free build you'd get in two weeks anyways is a bit much. Especially when you call piracy beneficial in an industry where most games are lucky to break even.

I'm not going to give you grief for pirating- especially when we're talking about AAA industry titans- but trying to excuse begging for a pirated copy of a game that you'll get for free anyways in two weeks is wild.

that's just your presumptions, you know nothing about who I am and what I do (or even my mood when i'm typing theses messages lol), dev didn't always delay releases, it came later.

You take your stance as if you were someone we have to listen to, when you can't even understand the very post you're quoting, even though it's 4 simple points, all state of indisputable facts (but don't worry you're not the only one that can't fucking read simple, properly phrased sentences)

as a final point I'd like to add that peoples are not funding this project (or any projects for that matter) out of kindness or because they just felt like it, peoples fund project to increase the production value, that's litteraly the sole purpose of fundings, however I hate to say but production value didn't increase with fundings, updates got smaller and time in between spread wider.

now you can deny reality all you want, I'm not addressing you, so you can go back hunting for big-foot and say the earth is flat. all I hope is that Lime (who is a dev that I like) doesn't stay in a posture that look an aweful lot like complacency.

Ah, OK, now I know what you meant.

To me it's still OK to ask for immediate access as per the nature of f95.
But I personally have held back sharing new versions/pointing towards new versions at release, because as kopiluwak pointed out in his last reply to your post, we like Lime and want them to succeed in their endeavor.

If kopiluwak reads this:
You're right, no one's the boss of anyone around here - well, except for the admins, I guess.
But lamba also just stated their opinion. No harm done.

Re possible slowing down of development:
I can only talk from the perspective of a backend dev (full-stack / game devs have even more shit to consider):

The first sprint usually is the fastest and you get some pretty respectable results.
But once you get to more complex and/or special tasks, the more cracks will usually show up.
And even the fixes you might've already implemented along the way will prove to not be able to cope with every possible shit, that gets thrown at it at some point.
So you might have to make the decision to scratch whole parts of your code and rework and maybe even retool. And boy, all your nice goal posts go out of the window - and management is pissed (or customers, if you're self employed).

A lot of (game or hobby) devs seem to not be able to push past this point once they reach it - because it's not only slowing everything down, it'll also drain a lot of the fun out of the coding/writing.

Same happens again after ~90%. You've got a nice fundament, all the general stuff is chugging along nicely - but there are some weird corner cases, that you just can't seem to iron out. That's when most shit just gets released anyway (if you're lucky it'll be marked as "beta") and then the bugs get fixed by severity/demand over the next weeks and months - if even that.

always make me cringe a little to see obnoxious peoples trying to make fun of a perfectly valid argument just because they can't understand it :/
