I wonder if these characters are for their new game, I don't remember them appearing in either Summer Clover or Happiness Double Room.

Yep definitely new characters, safe to assume they are from the upcoming game, my assumptions surprisingly turned out to be false, they are back.

Let me analyse the picture, from what I can tell, the girl with grey hair appears to be the eldest, she is probably the owner of the cafe, MC probably works for her. Pink and blue girls appear to be customers, probably regulars. Pink one is joyful, just like yellow girl in SC, blue one is the shy one, just like grey girl in SC, although there will probably be some differences from SC. There is one NPC girl customer upper- right side of the picture . the girl with fox features, she does appear to be real half animal, perhaps a goddess? Or just Pop idol? And Pink cat, which may look like a pig at first glance.

Long time no see. It has been a year since our last update. Over this past period, we have poured all our efforts into system development, which is why we couldn't report to you regularly. We are truly sorry about that.

However, please rest assured that the project's progress has been moving forward steadily. We insist on prioritizing the "completeness" of the work above all else. We will never rush to release a product simply to get it done, so we still need some more time to carefully polish it.

Although we have tried to enhance the gameplay in this title, we haven't forgotten the essence of the game. Regarding the "key core experience," we have also conceived a lot of content, and we believe it will be even more immersive when the time comes.

Below is some progress on the art side

So they are implementing supernatural elements into the game, the woman in the hat looks like a vampire, a ghoul , Wait a second, vampires( ghouls)?, a cafe shop?, this project looks very similar to a certain anime series.
