Any guides on this? I am using lutris and I have winetricks installed as well.
If you are using a launcher like lutris then just launch winetricks through there. If not, then you can do it manually like so in the terminal:
Code:
WINETRICKS=/path/to/your/prefix winetricks
And then select default prefix > install dll or windows component > find winhttp in the list

If that still doesn't help, or is unclear, then you can unironically ask your favorite flavor of ai, they handle tech q&a pretty well.

All you need is to tell Wine to load the locally present `winhttp.dll` before the built-in, I run it though Steam and all I needed to do was to set the launch command as `WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%` to get it to work, much like all other Unity games that uses BepInEx plugins.

What controls some characters max height being slightly higher than others? Is there a slider unlocker of sorts? Seen where some characters top out at 174ish cm and others at 172cm when I load a card.

So I just got a new PC and the game doesn't run, I open the English launcher and when I click Play nothing pops out. Already changed to JP locale, I can play the game no problem in my old PC. Using windows 11 on both

What a well optimized game, it's so rare these days. It's baffling me to think that a 3D anime game needs a high end spec just to run it.

Well done miconisomi.
Their games in general is quite well-optimized. While this game likely wouldn't run on my ancient laptop, their previous games are surprisingly playable if you know how to adjust the graphics. Probably help that the scope for 3D is just the sex scenes, so that mean not that many 3D models are rendered all at once compared to something like an action game.

If the game don't even start, here a few probale cause :

1) Win can't read the exe and start it because of the path name (path name too long or with non readable - ie foreign - characters in it). Try moving the game to the root of a HDD with a simple name for the folder to test
2) Your AV is kicking if for whatever reason (try adding an exception or temporary disable it if you're certain of the software origin)
3) save date is corrupted - delete the game save folder in appdata and try again (don't forgot to make a backup save before deleting)
4) Shouldn't be the cause, but you may still try => change non local unicode to JP or use emulating tool to run in JP setting (LE or NTLEA). You might want to try forced admin mode too.

Try running io.exe instead. The launcher never worked for me in first place. You will find it in one of the subdirectories.

For what you can just skip every Event and clear the Game in about 15mins....
I assume (for my sanity sake), that all thoses asking for the save have both 1) yet to try the game and 2) believe that like the previous works of the circles you needed multiple ending to unlock every custom option.... (and want to avoid the hassle - like in after school when you need the different relationship ending to unlock all the option).

For those people that want to run the game in linux I have two options:

Via STEAM:
In Steam at the top left corner, click Games you will see Add a Non-Steam game to my Library.
At the bottom of the new window there's browse, click that.
Now navigate to the folder where your game is at and select the English Launcher.exe or the other Launcher.exe.
Then Open.
It should lead you back to the first window, with the Add Selected Programs now showing up (you can also verify by scrolling the list), click that.
Now the game is in your library, find the game and right click it.
Go to Compatibility and Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.
Choose Proton, the one I used was specifically Proton 10.0-3
Then go back to the Shortcut and type this in launch options, "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%"
This launch command makes it so that the English Launcher launches you into the English Translated Menus otherwise everything would still be in japanese.
That's it you're good to go.

Via Lutris:
Open Lutris.
Click the + at the top right. Then click Add locally installed game.
Set the name, I set mine to Summer in Heat - English Launcher.
Then choose Runner to be Wine.
Then move to Game Options for the executable find the English Launcher.exe or the other Launcher.exe.
This part is important because this is where I initially failed, the Wine Prefix.
For this you're gonna have to create a random folder somewhere(would be better if it's close to your game directory), for me I created two for cleanliness.
I created GamesPrefix folder and inside that folder I created SummerInHeat.
Then going back to Game Options we're now going to navigate to the newly created SummerInHeat folder and select the empty folder as the Wine Prefix.
Set Prefix Architecture to 64-bit.
Then we move on to Runner Options.
Don't change anything here and go to the bottom where you'll see DLL overrides, click the add button at the bottom right.
It should create a new row, the key is "winhttp" and value is "n,b".
Then save.
You should be good to go.

im sorry for being employed

anyway, to stop straying too far off-topic and actually contribute to this thread, i'd like to elaborate on my suggestion: bottles (or even wine itself) can be just as, if not more, convenient than lutris or steam once configured properly. i mean like you can just double click any windows game executable and run it as if you were on windows
