If you check their ci-en it's been in development since late 2019 if you can believe it.

I don't know, man. As far as I can tell it's just a series of sex animations with dialog between them. Maybe branching paths. That with maybe some girl-customization could probably be done in a year or three depending on the team and budget.
7 Years? What the hell is in that game?! Is it open world? 30 Voiced character of all types?! Difficult social puzzles, where you have to solve complex relationships just to unlock doggy style with that one girl? Indepth resource gathering and crafting with satisfying progression like some Sexy-RuneScape?
I'm not saying the game looks bad. I'm looking forward to it. From what I've seen, I just don't see the 7 years.
Maybe it's because the game has twice the content as their last two projects? that's the only thing i can conclude. looks like there's going to be a whole VN type story, plus this game has 4 heroines than their usual 2. so they probably had to do twice the work. not to mention the whole new customization system. not sure if it can justify 7 years but maybe they work in their free time and spend a lot of time debugging the game.
Also the fact its not a team of lots of people. Less people = longer to make it. Maybe they work real jobs and this is the side project? Who knows. Either way I'm grateful its coming out, I just hope people can create a good mod scene for it.
It's around 5 years and full game goddammit. 90% developers not even bother complete their game in 5+ years. Propably it was be done sooner, but customization take big part, because people wanted specific fetishes.
Hopefully the customization options are wayyyy more than what the demo has. Sure, the game is going to have a ton, probably more than twice what insult order had in terms of actual gameplay. But what keeps me coming back to a game like Koikatsu is the character customizer with infinite possibilities. Now to be fair Koikatsu is modded so It's kind of an unfair comparison, but I do hope they increase the amount of clothing and hair options beyond what we currently have in the demo, as it is very limiting.
As for the development time being so long, I feel like it's pretty obvious covid absolutely bombed the development team as it did with everyone, but I'd assume it's mainly due to them actually being very meticulous with making sure there's no visual errors in any scenes. I've seen like zero clipping of tits or any body parts in the demo, and so far from the previews its seems like they've cooked this game to perfection. The graphics and rendering of skin and clothing also seems great. Plus new features like the camera filters or the second camera definetely add a lot to the experience.
As a gamer it's a godsend to see a game studio take as much time as possible to make their game perfect, and as a porn addict I think it's definetely going to do numbers.
(Oh yeah, and I'm begging yall to make some modding functionality when this game drops. If this game gets a modding community it will be revolutionary)

The only reason people are excited about this game is because it's probably going to be better than 99.9% of the crap that is produced in this industry. I'm only kinda interested in this game but there are absolutely 0 other upcoming games that I have any interest in whatsoever.
