They won't work, because they are 2D pictures, while SVS locations in fact, are 3D, which is extra dumb because Illgames could just make 3rd person camera by default.

It's EVEN more stupid, considering that they made 3D locations with 3rd person camera in their previous game which made on same engine.

But that's modern day Illusion/Illsoft, almost all talent and will to make good games has been lost, only laziness and incompetence remained.

Not to get too far ahead of myself here but this game was first announced about a year ago (released Aug 30th) , so we could be hearing about the next game anytime now. I wonder which direction they'll take the new game. AI Syoujyo, but with Koikatu/Honey Come/SVS graphics? Room Girl in the same style? Something entirely new?
Considering how they (the entire staff) never work together on a game for more than 1 year, you can expect something of a let down. No idea what could be a good reason for their obsession to release a new game each year.

I wish they do something with interactivity. Thinking of either making a sequel to SVS, Ai shoujo or some of their older illusion games. Just please no scene viewer as honey come or honey select were.

I always believed they made everything 3D, took renders of it and put in the game as 2D backgrounds like pre-renders are in old games.

They did proper 3rd person in KK, what were they thinking o_O

If they make a sequel of SVS using the foundations they have for this game, and actually build upon on the AA2 formula, then they could definitely find even bigger success. The only thing I'm sure of (since Illumination, their "sister company" exists), is that they'll likely recycle the character models so they can be compatible in Digital Craft with HC and SVS characters.

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. Also no Koikatu 3 or similar. I feel likme that would be taking a step back from what they added in SVS.
Would be great if they looked into the modding scene of that game. KK had some 3P/4P mod that seamlessly reacts to the "open world" to other NPCs. But if you strictly meant vanilla KK, then only the 3rd person view would be cool. Their SVS models are what I believe to be peak 3D anime style thus far in terms of vanilla content.

That is what I want to happen. Glad I'm not the only one. They have a solid base with SVS, shouldn't be a no-brainer to amplify it now. We gotta be patient a bit more, they must release/announce some info soon I've heared.

i know it's 2d, that's why i want to see how it fails... I'll try that someday

@DS270 Very welcomed addition to the game!
What i find to be improvable is that there's only one way in the new locations, this creates a deadly corridor which you'd be inevitably interrupted in.
I've thought about linking the vanilla classroom with the AA1 one, maybe you can find some other paths too.
Very good work overall

Bad luck, it's not a SVS expansion. It looks like a sequel to Koikatsu Sunshine or something like that.

I'm happy for those who love it/like it, but god damn, they finally do a successor to Artificial Academy a LITERAL 10 years later, let alone any game that actually HAD some semblance of a game in it, just to IMMEDIATELY repeat history and do another KK-style game, and to me as a game (not counting character creation or studio), that's a hardcore downgrade.

Going off my observations already from that alone, it's just you as the only guy (or possibly futa character since KK allowed for that as well), fully 3D which I'm mad we can't seem to get with AA/SVS (not without the fixed camera anyway), and the conversation UI is also very reminiscent of KK. If all the KK resemblances continue, then that also means no NPC <-> NPC interactions (aside from just flavor ones when the characters come across each other), which by proxy also means no NPC <-> NPC relationships, just you and the rest of the characters one on one.

All that to say, I shouldn't have expected anything, unless they defy all those expectations with the full reveal next week. Which I won't expect, and maybe hold a mild hope for that they do, but otherwise this already isn't looking (personally) good.

This is the only thing I hate about Koikatsu, the others can't do their own thing, NPC relations.

Yeah, in general KK and KKS got old extremely quick since the gameplay loop is far too basic and linear compared to AA; you can only succeed with the girls in the same exact way. At best, we could probably see some improvements with the Inverse Kinematics in H-scenes, maybe a few chara customization options, but that's about it; even if they make the girls "interact" I doubt it'll change much, KK is largely an H-scene simulator with little depth. I would be hopeful that they would still add some AA elements into it, since it's not exactly KK in name.. but the UI design pretty much shuts that hope down.
Kind of a shame imo, they were so close to gold... But despite this, I'll still give it a fair try, not looking forward to it though.

-Most positive, saying yaay or typing their wish of getting an imouto personality or the option to play as a girl (as KK didn't allow that)
-Some negative, complaining not getting a 'realism' game (they might mean something like another honey select or ai shoujo)
-Some neutral, hoping for gameplay or hoping this game set in summer won't release after summer break ended in japan.

My personal bits on it:
I like the inaka flair(japanese backwater setting), obviously SVS/HC 3d anime is back which I like alot. Best 3d anime artstyle yet by far in the industry imo.

But this frame(spoilered image) should make it clear what kind of game it is.

Look at the top right and you get greeted warmly by koikatsu stats. (Academics, sports and personality(maybe, idk the diamond, was it in KK too ?))
Looks to top left and you get a firm handshake from your beloved koikatsu's chara relation stats to player.
Atleast it's not going to be aa complete scene viewer game but it's seems so damn close to be one. Might just call it one ?
This is probably a stop-gap to their actual game next year, but they might work on a realism variant for it, who knows.

It's Inaka KK and we don't know the title yet (will be revealed July 4th with more teasers probably)
Serious concern is how strong will it be encrypted ? IL2CPP or Mono or something new to further push moding away from it ?

Idk, overall somewhat of a let down but interesting to check out and most likely, it can be add on the pile of illusions legacy of unrealised potential.
But again, they release yearly a new game. Even new vegas got half a year more time to develop and they too used many assets from previous fallout game and made something great with it. Wish illsoft would commit more time into their projects

Illgames feels like it releases as games what is meant to be "parts of developing" a bigger game lol. Well., we know how it works with them all I'm hoping for is Digital craft gets an update to read that game cards too, hopefully compatible with svs cards, and that DC remains as THE studio for this engine from now on so that the 10 bucks I spend on it keep being worth and everything stays more simple.

I severely doubt this game will be doing it. Gotta be patient until july 4th

People split being this new game getting anime-style again is understandable, because there is a sizable amount of fans of real-style that longing for real style games after Room Girl (2022) myself included. It's really disappointing, especially after disastrous Illumination's VR na Kanojo teaser clip which show badly created real-style girl character with bad shader implementation, bad lighting, bad environment model, in which some people speculated that real-style game team jump ship after Illusion break-up.

There's no way people who created Room Girls (which is very polished real-style games, the culmination of Illusion 3D tech prowess) created VR na Kanojo, with how bad the teaser of the game is. It's so bad that Illumination teams apologizing profusely and halted the game launch with no new release date until now.

The question now is, where the hell all the talented people who created Room Girls working now? Did they all just get fired and let go after Illusion going down? Some people are moving to Illumination, that's for sure (given their VR na Kanojo character model), but NOT the whole team, because there is no way that team created that disastrous launch teaser clip. So maybe bunch of them is still employed by Illgames, but the fact that Illgames third games is anime style again that cast a heavy doubt. There's no way you paid a team of highly talented people doing nothing for years.

For Koikatsu lover and anime-style lover in general, this third games is really a good news, because not only this is anime-style looking but also it looks like it has more 3D roaming à la AI Shoujo. More like an expanded version of Koikatsu.

For us real-style lover though... well this is really bad news. Beside Illgames and Illumination, there is no other H-game company that created highly polished, high quality interactive real-time 3D H-games anymore. This is maybe the end for us real-style enjoyer, what we can do is now just clinging on the past, playing Illusion's best until the end of time... LOL oh well...
