I was confused what is a character card, bcuz when I when to some sites, it was just a png which I thought its just pure image and not a character model in game, but when I tried it, it loaded just like the others, a character model...

It plays very close to AA2 with some nice QOL improvements some parts you can only tell by playing the game longer than 10 minutes.
Since it's not too big in size, try it and see for yourself.

Game can use 16gb of ram, in my case after it eats about that amount it stops increasing.
8gb might work but it will be slow on loading. If you really want to play then increase your pagefile it's better on an SSD, assuming you have adequate GPU.

So I'm experiencing an issue, for some reason the buttons for saving and overwriting are gone from the menu when trying to save.

If your game is fully updated, there should be a green "Balance Setting" option you can select, and you can increase NPC-to-PC affection; and it's not a mod, just so you know.

I don't think there's an official IP right holder. I mean, Illusion made it perfectly clear that they have no legal successor and nobody pays the taxes after KK sales.

This whole thing is fishy and very greyzone at best, so I don't think whoever is selling KK on steam would risk going to court (because then they would also have to pay all the accumulated unpayed taxes too that Illusion wanted to evade). But, just IMHO.
