Huh. I've known of ILLUSION and played/kept up with them quite literally since AA1, knew of SM2, but never made the connection graphically. Same for AA2 and Musumakeup. Though, looking at Musumakeup (or what I felt like going to look for on the provided link pages, specifically the characters section), I feel like while AA1 looked a bit more like SM2, it still had a bit of deviation from the style of Musumakeup, but I still get the visual gist.
Yeah Musumakeup is cutey-look, and it gets good reception from JP customer, maybe because it's the first "3D version" of the very popular musumaker game. For me it's one of the worst Illusion games out there (alongside Hako and all their "movie player" games). School Mate 2 for me is infinitely much better in every aspect, from characters modelling to story to gameplay, even though it's much older games. AA1 is rougher in gameplay but the character model is more on "mature" side which I prefer, while AA2 is much more cutey lookings but the gameplay is much more refined. I ended up playing AA2 for hundreds of hour because the gameplay reason only, it's just exhilarating.

Haha, no way I'm joining a Discord for it. I figured it out eventually, it's a resource allocation error, turned down the graphics and it runs fine now.
I'd like to know too, since I didn't get an answer previously on what's most efficient to getting the JP/Original game up to date, and especially so since the Steam version hasn't gone up anywhere yet either.
