You know, I think you've just gotten a lot older, like everyone else. It's been 10 years and 8 months since AA2.
Fun thing is, I am playing AA2 for at most 3 years now. But I'm playing it at least once a week, experimenting with new classes filled with students with customized traits now and then, whereas I find SVS quite boring overall. And yes, SVS may look way better, but looks are not all that counts for me.

I mean the big reason why i revisted AA2 was the massive Mod library and personality scripts that made some odd situations, like AA2 Unlimited.
Which is why i preferred AA2 over KK.
If there was a "SVS Unlimited" i'd turn here quick alright.

Thing that makes titles like these are the Modding community.
...i forgot all about these games because the only way i got reminded of them was whenever ScrewTheNoise uploads popped around, but now that's quiet.

Ngl, the personality modules barely changed much in AA2Unlimited (including most other modules from notable links) in an interesting way, or were just inconsistent/redundant; Example: the dude who's supposed to go on a killing rampage doesn't do anything for days or weeks, or really ever- and I've tried different combination of additional characters, modules and vanilla settings to no avail. Half of it is due to bugs from either AA2U or the base game itself. Let's not even forget the custom personalities with misleading/vague voicelines and subtitles (though tbf, it should be possible to improve or create more with AI- but personally I dislike AI, most of them lack emotion and that would only be worse with H-scenes).

The best thing about AA2U were the extra clothing and some handful of options for faces (they were extremely limited though).
