im trying to run it on r7 5800x with 3070 and 32gb ram, so there shouldn't be an issue tbf

The game is stuck on loading screen, the one that shows you character creator mechanics, the town's description etc. I have no idea what causes it, getting pretty frustrated with this, surely i can fix it somehow

PC is 100% more than good enough, before pc upgrade I played on ryzen 3600 with nvidias1660 super.
Since game fails to load into main map, I'd first suspect some mod, or some character card not loading correctly (especially if moded).

Search box at the start of the page shows me a dozen similar question with similar answer:

"use japanese locale/japan remulator... or install the latest HF patch"

btw, HF patch github link for SVS can be found by using the same search box or googling it

Personally I extracted patch files to a non game folder and then copy/pasted extracted files to the game folder.

Not to be rude or anything, but why is it around 50GB after unzipping? Isnt the original around like 7-8gb? The game works just fine btw.

Not too modufied game + HF patch takes 23-25 GB. To find what takes another 25... well guess you can go through folders and check what takes so much space.
Most likely mods or character cards.
