It has only been stated that Summer's mother had an issue with Nika, no mention of her father.
It doesnt mean that her father has different opinion, not at all. The father could have easily the same opinion as his wife - we just didnt have opportunity to hear it. Also the fact that Summer's mother stated something doesnt mean that we know the whole picture - their opinion about MC, his family and Summer's romantic interests in general. There could be much more things that they didnt like about it but the game just didnt reveal it so far.
The only thing that we know for sure it that there was pretty strong resentment regarding Summer's relationship with MC (could be for more reasons). And that the family very probably left with her (they are not around anymore).

If he was beaten by him, that would probably be THE thing he remembers during therapy, not that her mother disliked him.
Maybe but again, it doesnt mean much, as it didnt have to be her father or it could be more like an accident and not real beating. And more importantly, as BobTheDuck wrote, the injury is probably unrelated.

They don't have a problem with Summer being friends with Nami.
1. Its speculation as we dont know the whole picture.
2. It would be fully understandable as Nami was not romantic interest of Summer.
3. Nami is not sister of MC anymore, right? So she is just a friend from school.

As for the possible random attacker, I'm thinking it's likely something to do with the gang mentioned in WiaB, especially if Nika is William's son. That brings us back to Summers' mother, someone screwed over by the town's resident pogo stick. As I said, Nika's dreams end when the police officer shows up so the police likely were investigating something criminal.
This further supports my idea, the only difference is the main reason why her family left with her. So they probably find out or didnt like the family ties around MC. Anyway the result is the same.

Now onto Nami, who has clearly harboured feelings for Nika for a long time. Why wouldn't she question Nika as to why he overlooked her and dated her new best friend?
Nami is pretty protective regarding MC and his "mental state" so I dont think that Nami would casually bring up this theme that "she is better than Summer" IF Summer would be dead. Also because she doesnt need to - Summer is no longer possible love interest. Its just my impression but the scene in chapter 2/3 doesnt seem "right" IF Summer is dead. Nami could easily suggest that MC should go on in his life etc.

He saw Summer as perfect, despite her aggressive attitude toward him, Nami was always there for him but happened to be left by the wayside by both of them.
What aggressive attitude? I dont remind anything like that from flashbacks. Maybe I missed something in later chapters. But they were very cute together.

it would be interesting if towards the end Summer shows up and gets to see the "finished product" or healed Nika and whichever girl or girls he ends up with and they can get closure. And move on as friends. But this could piss a lot of people off because she would just be there to finish the story. I do agree that the story could be more impactful if she doesnt show up or just to see how far Nika has come.
I dont agree that it would be more impactful if she doesnt show up. I said it in my first post - what could be better than to heal yourself, start a new life and then help to save and heal Summer, your long lost soulmate, to finish this whole unresolved mystery and source of pain?

And it would be players choice what to do with it - if he fall in love with Summer again or he sticks to new LI from previous seasons. This would be great for a VN about healing imho.

Her showing up is a certainty. And all that healing is gonna crack like glass once he sees her. Now he'll have to deal with their tension and his new LI's feelings. Things will get messy af.
Looking back on what I said it would be hard for Summer to show up and Nika just be okay and have that closure. Although like BobTheDuck mentions the powerfulness of letting go and moving on and summer not showing up is interesting, the idea of him and ig her as well working through moving on with each other in their lives again would be powerful as well. But as friends and not as a LI. Because as of now there's no real, wait for summer path. I think no matter if she appears or not Nika should end up with whatever LI path your on and having her show up would show healing isnt an easy raising graph and there will be hills and valleys to it. But i enjoy speculating how may directions this story can go, keeps us busy lol.

I dont think that it would harm the healing process as much as some ppl suggest. If it happens when MC is mentally strong enough it could bring HUGE hope for him to finally find out the truth. Because so far its pain in the a*s of epic proportions and heals slowly over time. And it will be direct chance for him to resolve it and "seal the case". And that is positive thing, ät least in long terms.

Also it would bring interesting dynamics to the story because he couldnt save Summer alone. So he would need to "enlist" help at least from some girls. So it would depend on your status and their characters. For example, what if MC would need money to pay for some info about Summer? Would some girls agree to help?

- Bella - Bella would very probably help MC because she knows how it feels to lose someone so close. If you are on Bella path, it could make her little nervous about your future but she will probably help you anyway. Especially if there are some criminal families or shady characters involved in Summer's case. She cant stand that and she likes you. Also Bella is not a girl that should be easily intimidated by existence of Summer (unlike Nami).
- Nadia - she is smart and I think that she owes MC a favor, am I right? So good opportunity to "enlist" her help.
- Victoria - she will be glad to help MC, at least initially. Not sure about her feelings if you are on Victoria path. She may reconsider later when she will notice your growing interest towards Summer... but initially she will hardly say "no" to MC.
- Sonya - good girl that will help MC. A little similar motivation as Bella. I assume that there will be Sonya path in the future, right? In such case she probably wont say "no" to MC but inner conflict is possible.
- Nami - I can see her being furious initially and openly refuse to help you. But its not a bad thing as it could lead to some funny situations because she will be definitely curious (and intimidated) and will spy on MC and others. Maybe she would try to harm your progress by some shady (funny) means. Maybe she will even try to show you "Im better than Summer, wake up!" in ridiculously crazy or epic (lewd?) way.
- Sasha - she is educated, smart and romantic - she would help MC. Similarly to Bella, she is strong enough. And she would be probably interested to know the truth about Summer. Also if you find Summer after many events and will expect trouble (or the need to protect her) Sasha is most likely to teach you martial arts a little. Or Ayua and Sasha together.
- Nia - probably inner conflict. She may like to see Summer again but she will probably stick to her friend Nami so she'll make some excuse that she can't help. But later she may secretly reconsider.
- Mila - given her poor status its unlikely that she will help in this case but she will probably try to support MC. If you are on Mila path, she could be intimidated by existence of Summer.

their lives again would be powerful as well. But as friends and not as a LI.
Of course, they would be friends. Summer is not the same and probably broken or changed. The whole journey to save Summer is not about "my LI is back! I want to bed her asap...". Its just about finding the truth and help her because she would need it as well. To make things right. Because her disappearance was bad thing for both of you. It would open possible love path later but it would depend on your choice.

But i enjoy speculating how may directions this story can go, keeps us busy lol.
Today is your day, enjoy my post. :-D
