Well, there are some older in the the bookclub if that's your thing. But it seems she was? is? married to the dean of Schwarz's School of Law 20 odd years ago, based on WiaB. Unless the dean was her father.

Thats my main problem with SG, there is just way too many LIs. Even in current state of things at the end of S1 there is way too many of them. Assuming 8k renders for "next 3 chapters", how many of those renders will be dedicated to each LI ? How many chapters will be skipped content because you didnt like someone.
I flat out think that its a waste of time. Make a poll on favourite girls, max it out at around 8 and drop rest of them, and even then 8 main girls is probably way too much.
Hell even Badik with its current 40k renders have problem with this(fuckin Madame), and that guys output outshines ocean by a big mile(arguably 1 project vs 2, but thats ocean´s problem)

I'm extrapolating, based on:
- Marla's therapy with Amber centers around her self worth, not the car accident.
- Marla wants Nika at the therapy, but not Vic. Why on earth would Nika be helpful for her therapy? Marla's trauma for the accident is with Vic, and she's happy enough just have some words with Vic in private.
- Despite dealing with Vic so quickly, Marla wants extended therapy sessions with Nika, who was a bystander, and she mentions he's part of her problems (but again, no mention of therapy with Vic).
- Claire's bingo list shows Marla as a joke to the other staff, regarding her sex life.
- Marla's main changes since the accident have been to put out, and now a makeover. Not the kind of therapy I'd imagine for a car accident trauma.
- Dr Marla is/was the Dean of a rival college, who taught Dana in WiaB. A rival to a Zane college, and a lawyer. So Marla is closer to the action than we believe right now.
- Legal issues about a mafia family as a Ted Talk by Dr Marla. Hmmmm. Joking aside, I'm pretty sure Stephanie would know quite a lot about the Zanes, based on Dr Marla's (whether father or husband) knowledge of legal matters in Wollust.

Anyway, It could just be OCean doesn't give a shit about Marla and Vic sorting through THEIR shared trauma, because Vic's not the MC. Entirely possible.

Yeah, but seeing the therapy is ongoing, and that's the start of Ocean's plot for Stephanie as a main LI, and the fact he's now put her family in WiaB since removing the gun in SG, and then putting all the guns in WiaB....

...I'm very open to Ocean doing something with that. There will be a back story. All the LI have backstories that they share at some point about their historic trauma. Nami's is yet to be disclosed (her 'deal' with Nika), Sasha's scar, and why she carrys medication, Nia's history with Summer, Nadia's trauma with whatever family member (that was mentioned in passing), Zara's mother, Vic's past with Melanie, Bella's past with Mila and Melanie and sleeping beauty, Sonya, past-full stop... which LI DOESN'T have trauma?

I fully believe that Ocean will link each of the trauma's to Nika in a 6 degree's of separation vibe, in the furthest case, through Summer. Every LI has some hurt they need to work through.

Summer's Gone - Season 2 - Chapter 1 - Dev Log #38

Hello,

So…

I wasn’t in front of my PC for most of the weekend and suddenly remembered that I had moved Dev Logs to Sunday.

Sorry.

I created about 275 stills and 3 animations in the past 10 days.

Which puts us at 7275 stills.

I have no idea how many animations I’ve done yet… I’d say about 15 to 20.

And those are all animations with 60 to 300 frames, and more to come… But those will be tackled after all stills are done.

Obviously, because the game is now in 4K, all animations are rendered in 4k too.

Here’s a list of what I still have to do:

- Another ~750 stills

- About 15 to 20 animations (Non-cinematic)

- Cinematic 1 - ~30seconds

- Cinematic 2 - ~1min

- Cinematic 3 - ~1min (Teaser)

- Implement the new main menu and all its functionality

- Implement the new gallery.

- Implement the new Chat system for the phone (It’s coded but not tested in-game yet.)

- Implement Aurora (Optional for CH1)

- Create 5 standalone preset starts for Season 2

- Postwork for about 3000 renders

- Implement the ambiance and SFX

- Test it all, including the save porting from Season 1 to Season 2.

I’ll have to come up with a system to test future Chapters more efficiently, especially if it involves porting saves from other Seasons over.

The Steam page for Season 2 will go up in the next few days, it’s been in review for about a week.

As the next update will be as big as four normal chapters, I should also adjust the counting for it.

The next update includes Chapter 1 to 3, with 7 to 8 more updates to come for Season 2.

The game will be released on Steam/GOG with Chapter 4, the update after the upcoming one.

Provided that’s still possible after the recent, simultaneous, worldwide attempts to morally guide us, censor, and fuck all our privacy.

SG Season 1 was part of a free bundle in collaboration with GOG.com (FreedomToBuyGames) to stand against censorship and the right to buy and sell games as long as they’re legal. (Watch them make everything that could be seen as immoral illegal. Hello 1800’s and great work Project 2025.)

GOG now gave us the official numbers and 1,357,973 had claimed the bundle. A very solid number, and maybe a few will even try the game.

I’m not going to lie, not knowing if I will be able to pay my workstation lease and electricity bill next year is on my mind a lot, especially now that they are thinking about a new electricity levy after telling us it would finally be reduced.

I do have some contingency plans if the worst comes to worst. I assume SG Season 1 is safe as it’s not classified as an adult game, but future Seasons might be severely affected.

Germany, as usual, likes to go one step further and thinks about banning payments to adult platforms, even for adults.

They are speaking about certain websites there, but we all know how this goes. It’s never just that.

I was thinking about getting a cheap third PC to help with animations, as I still have a 3090 lying around.

But because I invested easily 90% of what I earned over the last few years back into the games, I must now build reserves for the worst case so that I can at least pay the workstation leasing as well as the electricity bill for the next 2 ½ years and then the workstation is mine.No matter what happens tho, I will never stop developing these games.
