For real??
Wasn't there something like december?
I REALLY tried to understand all off his excuses (MODS I'M NOT DISRESPECTING HIM OR SHITTALKING!!!),but what happened again to delay the release??
I do understand the shit devs are going through with visa/mastercard are pulling their shit.
So what's his excuse this time?
Let's be real it is an excuse again at this point.
Apparently Patreon banning him took some toll and he has to postpone Dec release to Feb(possibly). You can read the whole post on his Subscribestar

He finally decided to go full subscribestar?
Last i heard he dismissed it THAT much to even think about giving it all up.
I'm just fishing here for info's like everyone,i WAS a patron and at some point gave up.I payed for the steam release to help him.BUT the last shit that happened to him? I'm not gonna lie,it's a lot to take in and still trust him.
Right now i'm a leecher like almost everyone here on this site.
I just hope he has it still in him to deliver this time for real, thats all.
At this point i'm a laughing stock to STILL defend him.
I (and all those fans out there) believed him.
MY WORLD won't go under,i still have a shit ton of games to play after my hdd crash.
But it would be sad to see Ocean dying (not literaly).

Well, it's not like he has an other option. SS is/was to niche at time, and patreon was to wide spread to neglect it.

I have asked Ocean shortly after the beginning the the ridiculous suicide sanctions against Russia if I should switch von SS to patreon.
He told me back in time that he would prefer patreon because he has sometimes difficultys with the access to his SS account just because of this stupid sanctions

Last i heard he dismissed it THAT much to even think about giving it all up.
That was always out of question...

The problem isn't leaving Patreon; Ocean started doing that long before that. Last year, he promised the same update in December, but then he postponed it. And then he postponed it again, and again, and again. I liked one guy's question: "Are you sure this update even exists?" After all these numerous postponements, I'm not so sure anymore. I think Ocean will continue to milk it until people stop donating, and then he'll just abandon the game.

Welp at least the abandoned tag wouldn't have to be changed

11 DAYS AGO........ :ROFLMAO:
Hello,

A dev log at an unusual time because my sleep schedule is disrupted from waiting on test-animations.

Summer's Gone

Progress is going well, I've been hammering out animations on a daily base, the queue is now at 11 animations, and way more than that are finished.

The main cinematic is done, I've started a smaller cinematic of ~45 seconds... and I'm tackling smaller sets of animations.

I rarely to never preview animations because they usually take place during important moments.

Today, I'll show a single preview of what I've been cooking.

In an older Dev Log, I mentioned that many In an older Dev Log, I mentioned that many animations (previously in WIAB and other games) often feature lewd animations in which the characters are completely nude.

Even if it's a quicky.

The issue is the way clothing reacts, well, in this case, it doesn't react.

You get clipping and it adds a lot of headache to the already big headache that is animating in Daz3D.

Earlier this year, I took another go at implementing cloth physics into my animations. I had failed twice before, I just didn't have the time nor the nerves to figure it out but three times' the charm and I was successful. (You can see my first results in the WIAB CH4 cinematic.)

The workflow for simulations was still unstable, The workflow for simulations was still unstable, and Daz died on me a lot... I usually only gave one item in the animation physics... but now that I'm more familiar with the workflow, and learned some very important things a few days ago... I made cloth-simulations for multiple objects, with them reacting to multiple objects at the same time.

I cropped and blurred a good chunk of this single animation but it should give you an idea.

(The video is attached at the bottom. Open it in full to see everything.)

I especially like how that lil' tie drags across the comforter.

In another animation that I'll be doing soon, I will go even further in... a different way. I'm sure I can make it work... It will be amazing. I'm so glad when I'm back to normal sized updates, as I can focus more on quality again. Really, REALLY push the limits of what I can do with DAZ x Marvelous.

I will go into more detail at another point in the future.

Preview

I attached all images in high res, including the video in a zip file at the bottom.

A single, cute Bellchen

I've been doing a bit of postwork during animation downtimes and when I'm not fixing renders... and I can say that this update has scenes that are a new level in visual quality as well as the accompanying mood.

Soon lads, soon.

-Ocean

Yes soon........ :ROFLMAO:

Hey, so i am curious about something why don't this guy just create a new patron account and release the game on December just like he promised.
Because not just his both of his accounts on patreon are nuked, he's banned as person from patreon. If he would just open a new account he would just be kicked out again - sooner than later.

Until today Ocean has never gotten any reason why his WIAB patreon got the axe, all we - and he - can do is to speculate, assume assumings, and create possible conspiracy theory's. And in terms of his SG patreon, the support straight up ignores him - beside the statement that he's banned as person. In short, he counts as persona non grata there.

It was just to many shitty actions from devs i liked,it's not only Ocean.
"hellcat lounge" i'm waiting over a year for an update...
"Welcome to Hell" also a good game ,over 2 years its remakes who no one ever wanted, and promising there will be an update AFTER the remakes. ROFL
Killer7 's game my new memories is falling in this "excuse" pit too,BUT i believe him that his ssd's got seized by the police and he has trouble to get them back,BUT he needs over 2 years to re-create his models to update this game?
So there's just believing and hoping left.
Police seized his SSD?!! Why do I feel I probably shouldn't ask why... But why?

Because someone reported him to the police I forget what the accusation was but as part of the investigation they took his storage devices with all his work on it. He didn't have a back up so as said he had to basically recreate everything from memory.

You get used to it after a while. With practice it's easy enough to spot the the red flags. This site if full of "abandoned" projects after all.
Pattern recognition goes a long way to predict how a particular game's gonna end up. There are basically 3 kinds of games/projects:
Ones that progress smoothly at a good pace with a clear and realistic finish line set by a passionate dev.
Others that don't and end up in the "excuse pit" as you called it before being inevitably abandoned down the line.
And finally, others that won't really get the "abandoned" tag but will never be finished either, as the dev just does the bare minimum to keep it afloat with a couple small "updates" per year, while teasing/promising content that will never come. This kind is very common among larger games with sufficient patrons where the goal is to keep a stable paycheck and not finish the project itself.

Hello,

A shorter log today as I'm in the midst of finishing one of the bibi cinematics.

I did take off a few days because I overdid it a little with the animations and postwork... Felt a little... ' too exhausted'... but a few days without animations did the trick.

In the last log, I mentioned that I'd try something else with Marvelous Designer, and well, it worked on the first try.

However... Getting it to work is only one side of the coin... Making it look good requires experimentation, testing and frustration-tolerance.

I created about 9 animations with the [Redacted]. 5 of them were good enough to make it into the bibi cinematic.

After the update, I will make a log where I talk about some of the things I've done with Marvelous... OH WAIT!

There was a preview I wanted to show and almost forgot... Back to Lightroom.

You see, if you have ever worked with Daz for a prolonged amount of time, you'll have noticed that some clothing asset, no matter how pretty they are, are NOT worth the hassle.

I work with a ton of poses, subtle movements, and creative angles, and there are clothes like gowns, tops, skirts, and dresses that only really work in a normal, standing pose. If you have worked with Daz, you know which ones I mean. The 'I can't be bothered to deal with this.'.

But there is one type of clothing that is even worse... Shawls.

I saw a pretty shawl, and wanted to try it out...

It went as expected; it looks good in that one default pose, but goes full epileptic as soon as you dare to raise an arm. If you create thousands to tens of thousands of renders, you don't have the time, nerves, nor does Daz3D or Zbrush have the tools to deal with this shit.

Sure... you could technically Zbrush it... I have tried in the past... Have fun sculpting that shawl for two hours. As soon as the pose changes, you can do it all over again.

Marvelous Designer can do this, however, previously the workflow was such a hassle, that it wasn't worth it.

Times have changed.

Marvelous Mila

1764532020381.png

In that scene, Mila strikes multiple different poses, and the shawl follows like Sam follows Frodo...

The time to do this? From exporting to to finish; less than 4 minutes per body pose.

This allows me to use a whole new avenue of clothing and accessories... I immediately had to think of Sonya's hood. I really want to see what I can do with her.

Previously, I often ran into clipping issues with her hood (and even the old hijab). This might be a really cool solution... If she bends over, I could simulate accurate gravity. I have to try it out later.

You'll see a lot of little experiments throughout the update... I'll point them out in a future log and what I was trying to achieve. Don't be alarmed if some simulations might look a little off, I'm still learning.

I want to move to Blender to push this even further... I need to relocate some time in the future, gotta do some polls after the update.

SG
Took a few days off cause I burned myself with animations, returned to the colosseum a few days ago.

I'm more or less done with the bibi cinematic... (35sec), and another slightly longer one still needs to be done.

As do some animation sets.

Others:

  • Someone on Discord requested a button to turn off the naming of saves. That was added to S1 and S2.
  • I had to fix a whole lot of translation issues for S1 (Spanish) as the original translator wasn't available.
I had withdrawal symptoms from Zara... So here is a Zara render.

Mortality - David Dubnitskiy

About a week ago, I heard that my favorite photographer, "David Dubnitskiy" had passed away in a motorcycle accident.

I followed him for over a decade, and from an artistic standpoint, I looked up to him.

The composition, mood, erotica and how natural it all looked in his photographs was simply breathtaking.

Truly, a master of his craft.

When I think about where I want to be someday with my art... It's his photographs. It's this nostalgic-moody yet erotic atmosphere. The way he orchestrates/poses his models. Damn.

I wasn't even fully aware of his influence on me. I do have two signed posters and a calendar here in my office that I bought years ago.

But the day I heard of his passing, knowing that there will never be another set... That really hit me. It affected me for multiple days... Maybe this, plus the animation-overload caused me to take a few days off.

It made me think about my own mortality... How fucked up it would be if I died before finishing my games.

Thankfully, I'm still 'young' (Late 20s) and workout a lot, but I still gotta take more care of myself. Especially mentally.

I'm thankful for the inspiration he has given me over the years. (Robin's farm treat was inspired by one of his photographs.)

His legacy lives on and will inspire me 'til the end of my days.

Rest in piece, king.

If you want to see some of his pictures, look him up on Instagram or just Google his name: David Dubnitskiy

Ahh, there are two more things I wanted to mention, but I'll do it in the next log... I wanted this to be a short log, and got carried away as usual.

I have to go back to work.

I'll see you soon.

Fatzilla's always munchin on somethin' isn't she? Bet you that after she's done with that flashlight, the gun is next.

The fk does she even need a gun for anyways? She could run over a dozen NFL linemen with all that mass. Even Juggernaut would get flattened trying to run into fat Gigantor.

It seems like Ocean on track to complete S2 chapter 1 in mid to late December. But we will not get a release until steam and gog finish up with the game review process. So we are looking at a late January release to early February release date.
