Now, the question is when the game will be sent to Steam. The release was planned on December. Then Patreon was nuked and game was delayed to prepare for Steam release. It still means that it should have been complete this month. But we are still making cinematics. What about coding? Phone?
He is starting to work on Wiab from January 14th. What happens on January 14th? Additional job won't speed the development process as well.

I hate these type of milkers , there are other type of milker but oceanlab is one of the worst like that 20 years ago yandere simulator dev he milked all his fans for 20 years
When searching for the word "Eternum" I found Summer's Gone [S1 Steam + DLC] [Oceanlab], based on which I assess that this happened to me because each new update of Summer's Gone takes eternity.

I mean, perhaps I should also say a few words on why it matters that the game is released soon™ and not in a few decades when Ocean is ready at his pace as he seems to think the long journey doesn't matter and he'll get there in the end.
And no, his pace won't also magically get fixed by itself with "more efficient routine", longer hours or better hardware. These are marginal (albeit welcome) gains in the project scope.
- Technology keeps progressing, and his game will look outdated in a few years if it still hasn't been completed by then. He would end up stuck in infinite rework loops if he wants to keep modernizing his game as there would be more content to rework every time.
- You don't know what the future holds, and the further in the future you're projecting, the more it is true. There could be war, there could be economic struggle... Patreon could shut down his pages (right?), maybe Steam next as a major offensive against porn games, and suddenly his full-time job working on his game could be jeopardized. How's he going to keep developing this game if he cannot pay his bills? Do it as a hobby during weekends? Considering how slowly he has made progress already as full-time...
- People will get tired of the wait and move on, which will further hurt his support and ability to continue. Are you as interested in your TV shows when you wait 2-3 years before the next season? I know my level of interest drops.
- He might also just end up burnt out or aspire at doing something else professionally in the future, and I wouldn't blame him for either, but that's why he should aim to have a manageable project.

Ok but isn't ocean saying that wiab development will resume in Jan 14th mean something? Perhaps he would have finished 99.9% of the work in summers gone?
i thought we all knew this is just a milker and nothing more at this point.

Ocean isn't a milker. He generates a huge number of renders consistently. He is, however, stubborn and unwilling to make practical business decisions. History is replete with products that fail not because of poor quality but because of bad business models. I hope someone can convince Ocean that his own creation may be subject to similar forces.

He gets more than the average hardworking american that works full time and 12 hour days. His earnings with the CC have already been posted here; it's around $6,500. Not bad for a spare farm, as you put it, considering the average salary in Germany is 1,200 euros. Now multiply that by the number of months without upgrades and answer the question: what did we get from him in exchange for this money?
