As far as I'm aware he actually thought about doing a Corona update for the 1st of April, where the only poissible action for MC would have been sitting in his room with a broken PC. At least that's what he said on stream. But I guess that would have been too much trolling, even by DC's standards.

I actually wouldn't have minded that. It's pretty funny.

Well, given how much 0.20.0 was delayed it would have looked odd, if they had spent time on an update that does nothing but trolling people.

Yeah, hitting new game and spending a mind-boggling 5 mins skipping the 1st 3 days to enable free mode and be on any new route added in the update is such torture, it's a miracle some of us managed the sheer willpower to do it more than once in ~4 years

You need only to download the incest patch, which does exactly this. I made also a . Which has more lines covered.

But I did play the last time 19.5. So all my old saves for the changes I made I can't check if they need rework. And I do not play every version of the game.

It still misses sometimes. Can't deny the hard work that goes into it though.

Yes, thats why I made save games from my changes with the old version. Especially because it was said future versions will be compatible, or I understood it was meant to be compatible. I had in mind to look at the saves with the new version to check what need to be updated. Playing the game after every update is for me no option.

Yeah, the whole savegame situation certainly isn't really satisfactory. I mean, first they said it would be done, which is certainly does not fully right now, and even more importantly, there are more and more connections between different stories and there'll be more and more stories which rely on old content. While it's fine to replay the tutorial every update, replaying full arcs just to check whether Becca reacts differently towards MC or to see whether Harold gets his BJ or not simply isn't my definition of fun.

They really should try to make it work for the sake of the players. I'd expect another boost in earnings once the translations work and DC should really have the money to support strayerror and hire someone who will get the savegame stuff done properly. At least to me it's the biggest flaw of the game and one that seems to be fixable with money.

I like it that make it possible to add new stuff which happens in the early game. This also let me hope that I can tell Eve in a later version, I do not want sex with her, but invite her into into threesomes with other girls.

Or adding more voyeurism with the telescope. I'm not really a fan of voyeurism, but there is a telescope, so I hope there will be much more use for it.

So I can accept not compatible save games. Also a reason why I prefer to wait 3-4 new versions till I start a new game. So it is not sooo boring to restart. It is only hard to wait and especially s*cks supporting mods for the game.

Old content/Erik's route aside, keep in mind that Renpy doesn't like when you change code earlier in game. The engine isn't made to cope with loading save games with altered junk 200 lines of code above.

Unless they reallllllllllllllly wanna recode 99%+ of the game/make an entire update purely on fixing code/stop altering the game's start every build, we'll have the janky "works but not really" state we got now

Saving in the middle of a scene/dialog doesn't work in 0.20.1 either so your point is pretty moot .............

Saving in the middle of a scene/dialog doesn't work in 0.20.1 either .............

Had no issues with it in 19.5. Especially for what I used them. Not to play, just check if sentence is correct or not. For this it worked fine. For gameplay I used only outside dialogue saves, anyway.

But 19.5 saves just before the dialog or scene starts, don't work either in 20.x.

Summertime Saga is so far the only game I know which has problems saving during a dialogue. Never had any such issues in other Renpy games.

And also they mention you should only save in the town map or in MC's bedroom. Makes probabiliity to get working saves much higher.

My 0.19.5 saves all worked, even 0.19.1 saves, except a few ones where I saved in the middle of a running story that they changed.

I admit I also have some broken saves, but I count that normal, because I have a mod installed that I develop while playing. Nevertheless, most saves work.

And, by the way, saves in the middle of a dialog or outside town map or MC's bedroom do not automatically get corrupted. They can be used to try something out. However, I would always discard those and proceed from a "normal" save that has been made earlier.

What do you know another person doesn’t listen to the developer or read the charge log. You to load a save from the map or from my bedroom. I did that and my loaded with no problem.
