I hear what you are saying but, mind, I was a Patreon for 1.5 years. I actually stopped being one last November because I lost hope and you better believe that I wasn't fine with it.

And shoot, maybe there are enough people that are still paying for him to not feel the squeeze. Like, sure, maybe I am irrelevant. But that only keeps his decision to not hire more coders from being a bad business decision.

It is still bad management.

I think that such type of content should receive limit for max developing date on all platforms. Sheesh - it's from 2016, fookin !9! years in development. Even big games don't have such opportunities like Duke Nukem, Prey or Stalker. It's really turning in some cash grabbing scheme

its funny i think we all know if patrons started to leave the progress would speed up to regain the losses xD
hey i dont blame DC, the system incentivice dripfeeding to maximize profits.

rules of acquisition:
22. Wise men can hear profit in the wind
40. If you see profit on a journey, take it
55. Always sell at the highest possible profit
60. Never use Latinum where your words will do
67. Enough is never enough
68. Compassion is no substitute for a profit
70. Get the money first, then let the buyers worry about collecting the merchandise
96. Faith moves mountains - of inventory
110. Only a fool passes up a business opportunity
142. A Ferengi waits to bid until his opponents have exhausted themselves
209. Tell them what they want to hear

Every 4-6 months or so I’ll randomly have “ wonder if Summertime Saga's progress bar is still stuck” pop into my head, and I’ve yet to be disappointed :LUL:.

if it wasn’t a taboo subject, porn games would be perfect candidates for case studies of poor project management. Ironically if they gain a big enough audience, the very same examples of poor management, can also be cases of successful entrepreneurship.

Have said it over and over again... you don't gain anything complaining here, while there's people willingly throwing their money at them on Patreon, the project will keep going, even at the snails pace as is being developed as right now.

If there were someone (individual or a group) who have had bought the rights of the game, this individual or group could came out and put pressure on the dev team, to speed up the process or close shop, however life is never that simple or easy.

At this point in time, I just have a bare minimal hope for the next update, because so far, all that I've seen is just illusions, smoke and mirrors, broken promises and a litany of never-ending delays and excuses to drag out the next update.

Common reasons for complaining:
  1. Venting: Complaining can be a way for people to vent their emotions and release frustration. By expressing their negative feelings, they may feel a temporary sense of relief.
  2. Attention-seeking: Complaining can also be a way for people to seek attention and sympathy from others. When people complain, they may receive sympathy and validation from others, which can make them feel better.
  3. Control: Complaining can also give people a sense of control over their situation. By expressing their dissatisfaction, they may feel like they are taking action and trying to improve the situation.
  4. Social bonding: Complaining can also be a way for people to bond with others over shared grievances. By complaining together, people may feel a sense of camaraderie and shared experience.
None of these actually make a change, and therefore i agree with you. It is however hard to ignore the fact, that some people just enjoy complaining and no logical reasoning can make people stop. So complaining about complaining is in the end a endless useless circle of negative emotion, and only the individual can decide for themselves which side is the largest waste of time

If you're not gaining enjoyment from a new update, create your own enjoyment alongside others about the lack of update. The longer the wait the better the high. Some of us still occasionally dance around Ecchi Sensei's corpse. Long after the ardent defenders fled.
