This is not true at all. New content is already primed for backwards compatibility, there is just certain old content that is getting in the way of things. Besides, with a 3-4 month development window in-between updates, taking another month or so to deal with re-writing all of DC's old coding mistakes is not going to make many people happy. What they could do is hire some temporary dev's to deal with it while they keep working on the new update, but I don't think they're going to do that.

That has only been true for the most recent updates. (I want to say from around 13 or 14 or so on)

Point remains that this is not something that should be left to the whim of the Patreon crowd. This is not content or a feature or gameplay. It's subjecting how they code the game to popular vote, and that's silly.

It's not like they purposefully made it so that saves wouldn't transfer, it's just that this is DC's first project using Ren'Py, and as a result, some of the old code is not compatible with the new code. The way I understand it, it's mainly Erik's story line that's the issue, so hopefully after that we might get backwards compatibility.

If you don't like gay content, it's okay, but it's unlikely that we'll add a girl as a placeholder. By the time we get to do him, there'll be plenty of fuckable girls in the game, and nobody is forcing you to complete a girl's path anyways, the game is completely open-ended. You do whichever stories you fancy.

I for one, can't wait to do Kevin. His story may be one of the most interesting ones to read. And even though I'm not gay myself, The sex scene might prove to be interesting to watch, even if it's just once. After all, I already really like the character as a whole. He's such an wholesome guy.

Well everyone have they taste. I can understand for the one who draw and write the program that them wanna see it.
But for me i avoid it without any problem so thank you for the answer. Gay or not, look like that you are say something like you need to look at him because the story is interessing. For me surelly is a not, because also if is interessing if someone in this case me, but perhpas also other, if us are not into gay thing, there is no way that we wanna see that scene interessing. Interessing is a way that someone are into gay, if someone is not into that thing there is no interessing to see. So surelly a lot of ppl avoid it.
Why i am say that so? I am not say to put another girl in it. But if you wanna do a more complete story, then let MC choice if he wanna help Kevin to find also another man who can love him. At last in that case, we can help him finding another one. If us are not into him. I hope i have write well the thing.
At last if we avoid him in a sex action, we can at last find another boy/man for him. Help is always accepted and no one refuse to help a friend. Like Eric with June. Also if there is no new woman or girl to have in exchange.
But i hope that in the end DC add another girl, because look for Mia plot. We can choice Mia or her Mother.
Look Eric plot, we have to choice if we wanna help him with June. So we can have his mother in the end. Or if other like group sex, we can share his mother with him. In any case almost all the other girls/women have two branch to follow. So i hope that in the end, your all think well in the kevin story.

I believe he's referring to Kevin's story line, not the actual sex scenes themselves, which I have to admit, I'm kind of interested in as well, simply because I want to see how MC is even going to get involved. He's clearly not gay or even bi-curious at the moment, so watching Kevin's story line unfold should be quite interesting. As for an option to get Kevin a boyfriend, that's actually not a bad idea. That way people can experience his character's story even if they don't want to go all the way with him. I just wanna know something. If i start Roxxy before Mrs. Bissette, the teacher story change?
I mean... look at the mother/sister/aunt path. If you do in the correct order, you can assist a different scene in the dinner with aunt, sister and mother.
You can see that aunt let mc touch her leg, while her touch his dick, then after mc's mother touch is dick to, after sister unconver the thing and look under the table and see who are happen! If you do not follow the complete order, that scene is just different.

Roxxy's dialogue is pretty broken if you don't do Erik's story line before hers, and there's some extra flavor text if you do Jenny before Roxxy. Other than that, no I don't think there are any significant changes in scenes.

mmm strange till now i do a little about eric. Just go till the orcetta pack, but for now the package is in the mail of mc house.
Because i wanna do it later. Then for Jenny (sister) i already end her story, so i am 100% sure that she help me with Roxxy (say something like mc have a bigger dick so Roxxy can compared Dexter with MC).

Anyway for now i am doing Roxxy, but i also try to advence eric, and there is a little outcoming if you do Roxxy before Eric.
When you go to school and Dexter are bullying Eric, and then Dexter hit MC head in the locker, you can see Roxxy defend MC speak in a little sweet mode when mc is on the ground. Istead to be alwasy a bitch. If you do eric first, she act like a bitch while Dexter hit mc head in the locker.

But really all this perfect order really give me an headache

We plan on having all those little interactions at some point, but you have to understand that those are time consuming to make, cause you have to write, pose and code that shit, and sometimes even make special art poses for those. We deem these interactions to be "polish" ie, stuff we'll get around to do once we approach the final version of the game. Nonetheless, we try to think of as many interactions we can add in when we do an update, it's just that if we go down the rabbit hole, updates will take a month or more to be completed, and even then, there may be complaints.

I don't think that gay people would start playing the game only because of one gay story in it. And the rest, at the very least, would rather not have it. If the story is good, please make the naughty part optional -- like Bahamut Zero proposed, maybe find Kevin a man but don't bother your audience with the details.

My guess is that you will find very few people who play the game and miss the gay content.

Thinking back to Mass Effect 3, I was rather unhappy with how much attention you had to put in in order *not* to be in a gay romance out of a sudden. I admit that story was not bad, but it was quite difficult not to choose that answer as a male Shephard and suddenly be boinking Steve Cortez . Please don't make it so in Summertime Saga as well...

I'm glad I only played Female Shepard. I could be as nice to Esteban as I wanted. Didn't much care for Kaidan, couldn't stand Jacob and Whatsisface McMuscles annoyed me.
I really missed Yeoman Chambers. She was adorable.

Back O/T: I wouldn't mind either way if the game veers into Bisexuality. Or flip-flopping the Protagonist once or twice.
