Good Girl Gone Bad, Tales of Androgyny (Actually weekly-ish updates full of content), SpaceCorps XXX...to name a few. SS is great but its not the best in terms of time/content ratio.Sure. But there's exactly zero games with monthly updates, that come anywhere near the level of quality that SS has. If there was a game with the quality of SS with monthly updates, with as much content per update, that really would be a god game.
None of the above even approach the overall quality of SS. And not just saying as a fanboy, but objectively.
Nope. Objectively looking at the titles you mentioned for instance, none require anywhere near the level of dedication and time in art alone that SS does. None have full custom hand drawn backgrounds, or the minigames etc mechanics SS has, and while GGGB for example used to have monthly updates, the amount of content provided has never been even close to the smallest of SS updates in recent memory.
GGGB may not have the art gameplay mechanics but the multiple choices make it just as good as SS.
LOL just goes to show how much you know because Tales of Androgyny and GGGB both utilize hand drawn assets by artists who work on the game and in the case of Tales the team consist of only 2 people.

I'm not sure if I'd consider tracing outlines of actual pornographic images as "hand-drawn". I'm not knocking it's artwork, btw. Just saying there's a difference between free form drawing and tracing when it comes to quality, aesthetics and difficulty.

I think in general it's worth looking at the content in detail. In the very beginning SS had "bloated" content aswell. Jenny's old approach was a perfect example, where we had many quests (buying all those toys) and tasks (sneaking into her bed/shower, trading panties, etc. ) which created a lot of playtime yet required minimal additional work to implement. One may argue if reusing assets that way is good or bad and that's why it's rather hard to compare.

i remember back when the game was starting out we did the patreon poll to decide for either quick small updates or wait for beefier ones, nobody expected the wait time to be 6 month per update.
Yeah, I guess in those cases it makes quite a bit of sense. He talked about a possible MC/Consuela update (possibly 19.5?) for quite some time and 0.20 for the main story seems so massive (we've got like 4 or 5 girls/women?), that it makes sense to split it. I'd stil be surprised if he'd split actual character updates like 0.21 for Ronda though.
Not a bad idea this, especially since 0.20 is probably going to be by far the beefiest update yet, being all about the main story. It'll be interesting to see how big the 19.5 is going to be, since they're talking about multiple characters.
