Ren'Py - Summertime Saga [v21.0.0 wip.5091] [Kompas Productions]

Great art, great fetish implementation, and also decent story progression. Developers also never fail to disappoint with each major update. Grinding out the mini-games can get a bit repetitive, though. H-scenes could also be animated better, though I suppose that's probably asking for too much. My only hope is that somewhere down the line in this development of this game, is that the devs add more in-between artwork to make the scenes seem more smooth.

This was the first adult game that I got really into. First off, the way the art looks makes it stand out from all the other games. The story is interesting, but loose enough, for you to do whatever you want, and have fun with all the side quest. The only downside is it takes at least 3 months for a new update to come out and their is no carry over save system so everytime we have to start over.

The Art is one of the best out there and the story is progressing pretty good. But this game has a problem, the lack of compatibility with the saves of previous versions if you can deal with it until a fix, this is one of the best games

Summertime Saga is one of my favorites. It's a exploration game with multiple characters, each with their own story arc. There's also a main plot, but it's underdevelopment at the time of this review.

The good:
-Lots of characters
-The Character Stories
-The Art
-The dialogue
-The gameplay

The Bad:
-The development time. I suspect this isn't being development as fast as it could be intentionally, but that's purely speculation.

Other thoughts:
Patreon is stupid. Check out the mods for this game to restore the incest relationships.

New too the VN adult games and they're killing me slowly in a good way.
The art work, story, and sex scenes are just...wow.

haven't seen one of these games with such fluid motions when it came too the SS. Down side is it's missing the voice overs during ss but visuals cover for it enough.

The story is fun, simple, and corky but because of how it's been made it just adds more attention to the game not being able to put it down.

Reminds me of Dragon's lair...good times. I hate grinding but for this game I don't mind at all its worth it in the end and because it's on mobile my butt isn't numb from sitting on the chair.

An amazing game, graphical and otherwise. The story is pretty solid, and the animations are great, added to the fact that the developer is pretty excited about releasing his content, and it really shows.

There's a long list of girls to romance, each with their own plot that adds to their appeal, some even branching paths, although the game is very upfront about letting you know when these choices occur, allowing you to save before you make one. There's also a fairly big town to explore, and the game advances as a point and click adventure.

The game is pretty big as of writing this, and you could probably spend a few days back to back trying to see everything, assuming you don't skip the text (which is pretty well written). The characters are also diverse enough, that you should be able to find at least one that interests you, and a lot of them have some kind of sexy developments going on.

While I am giving this game high praise, there are some minor things you might want to know. First, with each new version of the game, your old saves are worthless. However, the Developer is currently in the process of fixing this for future releases, so by the time you read this Review, chances are it might not even be a problem anymore. Despite this, it's worth starting over, as each version usually adds a pretty significant chunk to the game. You can always Skip all of the text easily anyway, and get back to where you were within an hour (although he does sometimes add new dialog, so be sure not to skip everything!).

Secondly, the game has an Attribute system, that can be a bit of a grind. There are four, specifically, each with their own mini-game and all max out at ten (stats start at zero). The mini-games aren't that hard, but Strength requires a bit of searching to unlock, while Dexterity has its own Storyline tied directly to a couple characters, so it takes a while to top off. Overall, not really a big deal, as you pick your pacing with this game, but if you particularly like Jenny, then you might find the quests to raise a Dexterity to be a bit tedious (although their also quite sexy, as well).

The art is amazing, the story is amazing, and the developer is very open about their development. Ideally, this is what an erotic game SHOULD be. Do not ignore this game, play it. I'm kind of a strict asshole and I don't often (if ever) give out Five Stars easily, so hopefully that helps you (read as: forces you) to play this delightfully sexy game.

Before the latest update v0.15 i would have the said the game was 5/5 stars.

It wasnt very grindy. The story was good, even though it was about incest, it wasnt creepy or over the top. Updates were very consistent.

However, this newest update because of the Patreon guideline changes they had to totally redo the story. They did more than that, they redid the entire game. Now, the story is convoluted and there is more grind then ever.
What was once fun to play is now a grindfest that can take over an hour to get a meaningful cutscene (some actual sexual interaction). Future updates may not take a long time to come out but that is something only time will tell.

I praise the cookie jar with the v0.15 update. Now, you can just mod the cookie jar and get all cutscenes without having to play the tedious, grindfest of a game. Also, the animations and art are superb.

Also, every update, no matter how much they claim to bug test prior to release, the game is released with a ton of bugs that for many people breaks the game making it unplayable. you would think by now this wouldnt be happening........

Good and long game...nice and simple animation...accetable grade of difficult for a adult game(cheat are great), you have to have a little patience at the start, than the game show best part of himself ...(some bug)

This game pretty much brought me to this site a few years back,at the time i considered this game as one of my top three.Characters,story,animations are all quite well made,i was looking forward to every update,but here comes the biggest issue with this game,very long developing time,updates that come every 3 or 4 months,MINIMUM.Every update that comes sees less and less content,dev is always full of excusses.At this point i feel bad for the people that give money to this game,it is well overpayed.Hopefully he will see what he has become and change to what he once was...but that will hardly happen.

v0.15.20: Too buggy to be called a game at this point. Unplayable without running into game breaking bugs (events do not properly trigger) The artwork is pretty good and unique and the attempts at story and mini-games hold promise at least, but for now I wouldn't bother.

Awesome work.. the theme is constructed well. characters are not boring and everything is well scripted.. Its also very easy to play. you get all the good stuff for every step you make. In my opinion this is one of the best in every aspect. Keep up the good work.. I'm a fan Cheers dev

This is a long game and you can't use old saves for new versions that alone makes this game a 2 star and with the evil site we all know we hate now the game needs a patch to fix incest it is best to wait to the game gets a fix for old saves or wait to the game is completed so you don't have to start over every time. This game should be 5 stars but like i said the starting over is hurting this game.

I went from two stars to a 4 star rating still have save issues but people say they are gonna fix that for the next update if they fix that this game is indeed 4 maybe 5 star game the other issue is not their fault but Patreon for the incest stuff and it is not right taking it out on the creator/s.

It's been a long time. It started pretty good. The already good art just got better along the way, but that's it. Everything else just fell short at some point, never to recover. Pretty and neat finish, there's two or three fun character stories, but mostly empty and leaves you indifferent.

I could personally fill a sperm bank with the seed I've invested in this game... and it's not even complete, dear lord. Very good animation (stills and movement scenes), engaging and semi-realistic character backgrounds and dialogues, and a likeable cast, sans Eric.

this game is fucking great. It's still just lacking alot and the scenes get somewhat repetitive towards the end. I can't wait to see what all comes next though. Please please just give us more sis mom stuff though. This could very well be a classic.

How to begin? SS is pretty much on of the best adult games out there. It has a unique art style with hand drawn graphics you won't find anywhere else, some iconic and loveable characters and a reliable interface. The stories are mostly good to excellent and the sex scenes as repeatable content give you enough options to make repeats worthwhile.

But? SS tries to be much more than a fap game, but in the end concerning its content it will always be one. It tries to give you non-adult content, minigames and a crime back story, you need to do a lot of non-sexual activites, and because of the decision to render older save games unplayable you always have to start from scratch. The last one is IMO for a small part necessary because of story and trigger changes, but for the bigger part a speed bump to force player into invest more time to each update. Because it takes a while to the next update. Because they need to code/implement new minigames every new update. That's not why we are here, guys!

To me this is by far the best adult game ive ever played. It achieves a perfect balance of gameplay and progression so you have to work for the scenes so you feel rewarded but at the same time it isnt too much grind so you dont get bored. The story is pretty strong, specially with the mother, since it mantains an erotic stairway to heaven progression style, that makes you really excited, and when the climax comes, its incredibly satisfying. The other routes are not as good at that one but still pretty fun.

Great art, decent story, well done h-scenes, and a professional and transparent publisher and great community. On top of it all its released for free. Definitely a great game to play and support. The streams that Darkcookie does are also lots of fun.
