While that is true i higly doubt anyone in the dev team was a Professional software dev before joining the team.Drawing stuff is not the most time consuming part. Coding is. It would be A LOT easier, if content was added linear, like in most games. Add few extra scenes, few lines of dialogues and you are done. You can play with old saves, and release new content each month. But changing one thing in existing content is most likely rewriting half of the code in that part, then making sure everyting works. And with content that huge, we have to be prepared to even longer update time in the future.
They would cost way to much money and in reality 50k is not enough to pay a prof software dev.
And lets say DC manages to get his hands on one and manages to afford him. Most of the time he finishes the art for an update 1 or 2 weeks before the actual release.
As things are now you can't make it faster by coding faster or better as DC could not draw fast enough. What DC needs is a 2 Art guy and then a way to code and bugfix faster. But that cost alot of money.
