Well, in that case her update would have happened earlier and not, like now, in 0.18. But it's of course true that the game was always supposed to be more about the schoolgirls than about the family. After all there are 9 main girls and only 3 of them are family members. The family stuff just happened to be first, that's why some people though this was supposed to be an incest game. Let's be honest, everybody who gives money to DC will have understood by now that for the foreseeable future the family won't play a big role and these people have probably stopped giving money long ago.

Sure, but you are making a totally hypothetical point. It's like saying DC may lose interest in SS tomorrow to start a new game called blue oyster saga which is exclusively about Kevin fucking all the boys in town. It may of course happen but it's not likely and thus not really worth arguing about.

I mean, there was nothing they could safely do when it comes to incest and I'd say the current compromise is fine as it is. After all it's really easy to bring it back eventually and even the current patch is decent. Whether you like it or not, money does of course matter and as long as it's feasible compromises will have to happen. Having said that, I don't agree with strawman arguments, what he may or may not do if patreon would do X - after all, there's no indication that any of that may happen.

I'd indeed say that the game is still more or less on track, despite some decisions. It just simply takes time and stuff like threesomes have to be well implemented to make sense. They for example bascally already comfirmed that an Eve/Odette threesome was/is planned.

When it comes to the Ivanka-BJ background for example, I actually remember the stream when it was drawn and I can tell you that there wasn't any special thought behind it. Someone suggested it and DC liked it and implemented it. As with so many details. At some point they'll have to spend the time to iron these things out.
The same goes basically with Jenny's old scene(s) - they simply were made early and were really badly implemented into her story, where MC bascially had to randomly visit her at night or in the shower without any reason or indication. It was bad game design and they corrected it without removing the scene. To me that's a decent compromise.

Else one should always consider that the game is far from done and that many scenes simply didn't happen because they are lot of work and take a lot of time. The librarian for example will get her story at some point (which is one that could likely involve Jenny, for example) and many other stuff is still in the air.
