Actually the game does explain it a bit, but does an excellent job of letting the characters gloss over the ugly bits like a person would in real life when being asked to air their emotional baggage. It was a bit of a snowball effect. Harald used to be a rough around the edges all-around good guy with a rougish badass side, and that was the man who Helen fell in love with. Helen was a wide-eyed innocent who found the excitement of the "bad boy" intoxicating.
But that relationship dynamic diminished into middle age, as it does. At the start of the game they're both very bored without any real life destination, they're just going through the motions out of duty towards being good parents. Their daughter, Mia, knows that they're not happy but doesn't realize that they feel dead and trapped in their "meaningless" suburban lives.
Harold spends enough time at the precinct that even the Police Chief will mention Harold needing to spend more time with his family in an off-hand comment. And Helen has turned to religion in hopes of giving a sense of purpose back into her life, and when that failed she doubled down until the original goal of religion was lost in the zealous pursuit of obedience...or at least the appearance of obedience.
The Nun has a very sideways approach to psychology, but she does in fact point out exactly what Helen is missing in her life and how she needs to reconnect with her husband on a personal level again. Harold doesn't need to be schooled to get an attitude adjustment, he just needs to stop feeling sorry for himself and dig up some of that lost tough-guy ambition. That's how even if the MC decides to take Helen for himself at the end of their quest he is still found attractive enough that his partner easily replaces Helen for his romantic needs.
The real point and beauty of their story arc is them realizing the illusion that they've been living meaningless lives. Living has less to do with what you're acomplishing and more to do with how much you love what you do.

Marphey they look good on cartoon or anime characters, they arent affected by gravity, thats why. In RL big -natural- boobs sags and causes back pains, and plastic boobs look like hard balloons attached to a woman.

My grades are a combination of personal preference and the nature of the character's content.
Tina and Odette would probably both be in my C tier. Some of the lower rankings are more because of a lack of content for that character than actual preference. On the other hand, some are ranked higher despite lack of content. (Jane the librarian is ranked so high despite having no sexytime because she looks like a caricature of my best friend's wife, and that shit is funny) Ivy would be a tier higher if there was an option to bang her without paying for it. Priya and Yumi would both be a tier higher if there were an option to bang them, period. Micoe would probably be higher if you could do more than oral with her. Oddly, I don't see Annie or Lucy changing grade level once their sexytime content is produced. Grace and Helen would be S-level if there were additional scenes with them.

"Big" is ONE of the few things there is to go on in this game in case you hadnt notice, most women in town are bimbo-esque in body type. Which if you ask me isnt a bad thing, I like summertime saga body types and the women who arent stacked usually have a nice kink/fetish (Trans/Teacher/Interracial/etc)
As for Lucy's personality, unless it turns out she is the head of the mafia thats been extorting your family, not really seeing how its possible to make that wet paper towel of a character anything more than a quick sex session for MC during the Annie storyline.

Well, Lucy wiil be part of 0.22 while Judith will get her content in 0.23, and because characters always get their content in groups of usually 3 or 4, it's almost impossible to figure out how popular they are anyway.
Next to that the polls are very, very volatile. The main story and Maria for example were always among the least voted options, before they suddenly won the poll by a huge margin. The same goes for Debbie, who was popular before but became dead last in that same poll and didn't recover in the following poll, either.
Tl;dr Polls are totally unpredictable by now and seem to give little indication about general popularity.
