2 months of work, with a team of 7 peoples working full time on the game to release :
  • An eerie mini-route for a certain someone.
  • A brand new cookie jar scene with that person.
  • A spooky new location.
Over 60k $ per month, hum , he was releasing 3 times more content than this when he started the development with less than 1k (alone) .
I think its true when people says that humanins get greedy easily.
no offense !

Not trying to be one of those jealous devs
well you're doing a terrible job

63000 per month for doing practically nothing each update
yeah, that's why they're so successful because they "do nothing each update", have you even played other updates other than this one?

He's basically sitting in a chair laughing at Patreons while he draws out the game for as long as possible for more payments by limiting his releases. That's honestly pretty cheap, not at all surprising, though.
yep, totally not jealous at all and clearly an expert on game development

It's bullshit but i think they worked on the main update and this at the same time, since the main update is still at 13% (only...). Now the problem is that this probably took like 3 days, and now they've wasted 2 months for 13%

Dude stfu please, how can you suck up that much. "Have you even played other updates..." can you honestly say 5 months for an update (like 4 or 5 scenes) is normal? You continue supporting the game, thats fine, but just because someone criticizes the game doesnt mean they're jealous

Bunch of ungrateful cunts the lots of ya.

First: Last update came out last month. So this halloween update took less than 2 months while DC was working on 0.20.8 which he already did over 50% of the art.

Second: Greed is what happen when you see a game like A town uncovered. So if you want short updates with unfinished art which don't have the level of details or animation quality of SS then go there.

Three: SS's releases are and will always be free. People are giving him money because they want too. Which most of you likely don't yet dare to complain about.

Four: At the start DC didn't take as seriously as he did now, which you would know if you watched his streams which he does every day but the week end. Thus all the rework that happened for the art style and why the quality of the art wasn't as great as it's now. So you wankers can continue to wank to better quality 2d art.

Five: The game is a 2D game which takes longer to make than those 3D renders games.

will there be a time in which you won't need to restart a new game to play the new version?
If you played the previous version. In this case 20.5, you're save from that session will be migrated to the new update. However, any save farther back could cause issues in the transfer

CreamyCookie - HR & Cookie Baker
Imagine having HR for a fucking indie porn game, Jesus Christ. What's the point? Hire another dev or artist.

Patreon takes max 12%, so hypothetically $60,720 a month or $8,674 per employee or $54 an hour or $102,000 per year for the game before taxes which I'm assuming they're all 1099. Taxes in CA (the highest in the US) would be 11,300 - $20,340. Healthcare being around $4,000 a year again for California, the highest. So they're still making $78,000 each a year.

All this assuming they're working 40 hour weeks which I seriously doubt because of how slow updates release. My team of 4 devs for a major financial software company released 6 major updates this year alone, including a rebuild from the ground up.

Love the game, hate the wasted resources.

I just want to say that I have been playing this game since .07 and I have also talked to the game creator myself in the past. Yes I agree back then (.07) content was coming out much faster, like almost on a monthly to weekly basis. But the real hardship came when Patreon decided to ban certain content from their service in which forced the creator and his team to rebuild his entire game removing said content. However the creator did state in a later conversation that if he could find another service like Patreon that would allow said content to be put back in, then we would certainly do so. I personally believe that this could mean they could be doing dual versions to support that fact to become a reality which would mean extra work.

Furthermore, even though it is taking things longer to get released, I personally believe that DC and his team are putting quality over quantity and are creating a solid game. Comparing to the other masses of content on this site (Not saying all of it is bad, we have quite a few good creators), a lot of the projects are either poor quality, takes forever to see any real progression or ends up abandoned at the drop of the hat. I have seen a few projects start off very good, and then the creator(s) drop the project for various reasons. So DC and his team make some money while taking there time making a good game, so what? they earned it.

Now just to be perfectly clear, no I do not pay them (I wish I could) any money and no I am not being paid for this commentary, But I personally believe most of the people you see complaining about how they are just money hungry are usually the ones too cheap to give anyone anything so they really don't have the right to talk about such things.
