Actually fucked up though that the tech update was supposed to take 3-4 months. At the current pace of the update if we calculate that they've made 80% progress on the tech update in 34 months, it will take 9 more months to get another 20% for 100% completion fyi

If they're working full time and being paid industry standard wages, it would absolutely cut into that budget. That's like 5-10k per person, monthly. Also proof he pirated software?

Ren'py is free and that's it. I dunno what drawing software he uses, or any other tools for that matter.

Isn't that subscription based these days? I know it's not hundreds of bucks, but it would still be ongoing costs.

It's really a neglectable sum/month for anybody who actually works with that kind of software somewhat professionally - we are talking about $35 or so.
Ultimately it's just a few people who didn't manage to move on. These or similar tables have been around for months and nothing has really changed.
If that was the case, we wouldn't be sitting here discussing this because we would be busy playing Summertime Saga 2.

Probably around 4-7% depending on where he lives. Also, I believe patreon takes an 8% cut as well.

Either way, I don't think DC is near as rich as people think he is. Richer than most of us? Yeah, probably. But, not like lambos and mansions rich. Like a nice house and a Honda Civic.
Not rich but definitely living comfortably. And considering the money is split between him and 10 others, he's getting far less than people think.
When's DC going to scrap the game to rework it in an anime style? He could milk that tech update for a long time.

Its certainly not an amount that would be worth milking or scamming. If he was trying to do either there's like a dozen better ways he could be doing it. I think progress just truly is going THAT slow. I don't think its artificial. I'm guessing it ended up being less of a tech update and more of a full remake.
Maybe maybe not it depends on how much his Patreon is actually getting could be as low $30,000 per month or on an average of say $5 dollar pledge per member $148,000 per month. But it's probably is closer to $200,000 per month.
But either way it makes no difference to me I just check the thread every so often.
If he's scamming that'll eventually bite him in the ass whenever that happens.

The only problem with the estimates I've seen is that none are actually official. There just guesses on the type of content and number of paid members.
Don't get me wrong it could only be around 70k, but I do know a couple of creators that make 2 times more than what the estimates say.
Now if there is an official estimate from Patreon itself I would love see it as I've never found one or I just don't know where to find it.
