I mean, why should he? Really? He doesn't really owe his patrons anything. The key lies within the donation part. The donation is a voluntary payment, not a compulsive one. So how much 'rights' do his patreons really have here? Apart from just stopping the donations. Which they don't do. So, your suggestion?
I personally, not being an absolute piece of shit, would use the money people have donated to me to make a game to do the best of my ability to make the game.
Considering the only reason we started getting the 2 month update increments is cause the game got the abandoned tag on this forum, yes, I do think they care about people talking about their game here. Probably patron numbers started to drop so they had to do something. Yeah, people can find STS via this forum, but you got to remember that most of us don't pay for the games here. If I discovered this game and saw how long it is in development, I'd never donate to his patreon.. no timeline when it's gonna get finished.. plus it's free..

the guy releases when he wants to. not once was he reliable with his updates. the only thing you can do is go to his stream and look at vods. there you can see some scenes he has been working on.
It would not surprise me at all if he just told his patrons to go fuck themselves and release it on Feb 1st instead so he can get another month of Patreon contributions from them. He really needs another 70k+ for this next batch of incomplete content you see.
