You seem to have a wrong idea what this site is about. No one comes here to pay for anything. Hell, the site tries to monetize what little it can to pay the bills for hosting/etc by using ads and most of us use adblockers. To bitch about people on other sites and what they do there has nothing to do with this site and what is done here.

We are nothing to most of the developers of titles on this site. We don't matter at all for any developer who has a bit of success on Patreon or subscribestar. What is said in this thread does not affect their bottom line in any significant way. The low subscriber count developers who are also active in threads here? Sure. What is said here matters to them, personally. But developer who never communicates here? They don't give a shit what you think of them. Even several developers who do communicate in threads here who are tired of the same repetitive whinging and wailing have told those who do it in threads here that they don't care what those whinger say - their game/VN isn't for them and that they should move on if they don't like it.

I think we're mostly in agreement - I think I stated similar in the paragraph you quote. Developers with low subscriber counts? Yeah, they care more and in the early part of development F95 does have the ability to help some developers. However, there's much more to success than that. There are developers who are regularly updating with strong support on F95 with high ratings that still can't break $100 USD per month after several years. Even after 2 years, only about half of all adult game creators on patreon bring in more than $100 USD per month. Less than 20% can eek a living after 2 years. So while F95 can be a game changer - it's not the guarantee a lot of people think it can be. It's that poorly formed perspective that may give some the wrong idea that even as non-subscribing fans they have a lot of sway in the success of developers.

But, yeah, Summertime Saga and F95 each feeding off the other's popularity in the early days enabled their growth (I've posted about this previously in this thread), are now too large for either to have an significant influence on the other. F95 has 35,000 different on-topic threads that drives its success. Summertime Saga has nearly 30 million results when search for on Google, including over 5 million video results and it has multiple streams of feeder systems from various adult sites around the internet - as well as quite a few mainstream in-roads. F95 is just a cup of water in a swimming pool that is Summertime Saga's market. And vice versa.

I don't go to DC's discord and I only go to the picarto if someone mentions something interesting in this thread and then I go and check out a VOD for a couple of minutes.

You all think you are so important to DC's success and that posting insults about him there and insulting others who are just trying to keep the thread a bit civil does anything. It doesn't. We're here to take things from developers without either paying for it or subscribe to their services. We're here to take without any form of compensation in return. That's why we're here. On top of that, we can help each other if there are troubleshooting issues that arise. We can talk about which characters we like or storylines we don't or vice versa. But --- honestly, people who come on this site to take things for free who then think they have some kind of right to complain about the speed of development or complain what the developer is making is a level of entitlement that is fucking ridiculous.

The developers owe us exactly what we have paid them --- absolutely nothing. The constant, repetitive complaining from either the actual howlers - or the trolls who are just attempting to attention whore - is worse than the toddler you hear screaming in the mall because their parent won't give them a sucker.

You say "scummy ways." That's fine - then STOP COMING HERE. But you can't. Can you? Because you want new content to choke the bishop to. But DC's not going to change in order to make you happy. The people who subscribe to his patreon are fully fucking aware --- especially after 30 months of the tech update --- of what they are getting into and have gotten into. They aren't subscribing for the game/VN - because it's free to everyone directly from the developer's website. Every-fucking-one. They are subscribing because they either like what DC's already done, what he's doing, or what his plans are for the title. No one is forcing them to keep their subscription active. No one is keeping them from cancelling. No one is stopping them from reporting DC to Patreon if they think he's not delivering.
