I feel you are overthinking the whole thing way, way too much. We shouldn't start to wonder about stuff that's really not relevant. The game is constructed really easy and it's always the same. Make somebody happy -> get the pussy. What Harold thinks is neither known nor really relevant. If MC fails to bring the family togther, as Mia wishes, but basically makes it worse, Mia should be upset, because that's in character, and because of that she should reject MC. The same goes for Mrs. Johnson. Get Erik a girlfriend -> MC gets her. It doesn't get any easier.

Well, you said yourself "half" of the town, which means that some choice may be an option. It won't be realistic and there doesn't have to be an explanation for everything, but I'd just like some individual characters and some depth. The story will never make sense as a whole (it's a porn game after all...) but there should be a degree of character credibility and consequence. For characters like Roxxy and Chrystal for example it's quite reasonable that they'd be willing to share at will, while the same would be really out of character for Mia and Helen, without a really long lead up, or even at all.

Or in short: Just because there are and will be some smaller or bigger inconsistencies in the game doesn't mean, that every bit of credibility should be thrown out the window.

You're wrong. What Harold thinks is important because he has the opportunity to present his motives to his daughter, which may affect what she will think about the breakdown of her parents' marriage.
MC did not have the slightest influence on the marital problems of Mia's parents, so there is no reason why she would have to ask him to solve these problems.
She can ask for help but she should not blame him for the failure of their marriage if he fails to fix it.
Blaming the MC for the breakup of the parents' marriage would indicate a lack of elemental logic and the association of facts by Mia.

What is credible is decided by an appropriate idea for the story and an appropriate presentation of events.
Example.
Harold decides to leave Helen, which causes her to slow her mental breakdown. Mia is worried about her, so she consults with a nun Angelica and Mrs.Ross because she has a good relationship with her and trusts her.
He gets advice that comes down to the fact that Helen should start going out and meeting people and especially with men, to restore her confidence and faith in her attractiveness (which suffered when Harold abandoned her for another woman.) Because Helen's life was reduced to help in the church and taking care of the house, she has no friends who could help her or know men she could trust and with whom she could go for dinner and ultimately for a date.
Mia only knows one guy who fulfills this condition and is MC, so he asks for help, specifically he would come more often to keep Helen company and sometimes go out with her for lunch / dinner or shopping.
MC agrees and after some time it turns out that Helen actually feels better. She regained her self-confidence, her psychological condition is much better but the risk of collapse still exists.
There is a new side problem for this. Helen fell in love with MC.
She told her daughter who now has a dilemma. She has to decide whether.
1. Stop the MC for yourself and cause a mother's mental breakdown?
2. Give MC to mother, which will cause her to lose hope of relationship with MC.
3. Share MC with mother if Helen agrees.

Now, if at the time of making the choice Mia will have a relationship with MC, and Helen will be aware of that, and MC and Helen will do nothing but her back, which would make her feel cheated, there is a good chance that she will choose option 3 and he will share the MC with Helen.

Quite a credible explanation for the triangle of MC, Helen and Mia with the consent and acceptance of all interested parties.

Mia obviously, despite all those troubles, loves her family and if MC fails to bring Helen and Harold together (driving Harold out of the house) and instead starts fucking her mom, of course she'd be angry and wouldn't start a relationship. On the contrary, if MC fixes her family she'll be happy and thankful. That's why the choice was/is so good, because it actually means something.

You forget about one thing. If we choose Mia, then Harold comes back for the daughter's good, but he does not make himself happy. So we have a happy daughter and parents who are together, but they are really strangers to each other.
If we choose Helen, then Harold decides to follow his heart and try to create a happy relationship with his colleague.

The choice itself is a strong simplification of the situation, because the real choice is made by Harold himself and not by MC. Why? Because Harold does not know about the night rituals of MC and Helen. So their relationship has no right to influence his decision.

At this moment, the story of Helen and Mia is illogical and full of holes like a sieve.

There are many illogical and unbelievable things here.
1. In such a small environment, it is impossible to hide so many MC's relationships with different women. So DarkCookie will have to find an explanation for why women will accept massively that they are only one of many women in MC's life.
2. The fact that the teacher at school also make a massive relationship with the student is also unbelievable because it is against the law.
3. Most of women do not care about contraception and even want MC to go inside. A child is a serious matter, so the possibility that all women are so willing to get pregnant is also unbelievable.

In order for the whole story in the SS to make sense, DarkCookie will have to present some credible reason why so many women of all ages are willing to have an intimate relationship with MC and are ready to share it with other women and why each of them wants to get pregnant.

If DarkCookie finds the right and reasonable explanation, the fact that MC fucks "half" of the town and that all his women will give him permission will cease to be unbelievable.
All you need is a good explanation.

I actually dont like the pregnancy idea..Too many women get pregnant over & over again is just too much..and that pregnancy idea lead to bullshit story..How about just make a story like Roxxy and Mia..no pregnancy,even they have, only one baby at the time..But damn,DC just mess up the story by making it bullshit with that pregnancy stuff

We won't see Harold talking to Mia for minutes, we won't see Helen talking to Mia even longer, we won't see real, deep love struggles, soap opera style drama, etc. Yes, it's a VN but things are meant to stay simple. All that MC has to do (and does) is make Helen more sexy and convince her to become her old self again, she'll fuck Harold's brain out -> marriage saved. If there's a problem, there's an easy, funny and perverted solution. That's how the game works and one really shouldn't overthink things. So no, I don't think that I'm wrong on this.

DC had planned to introduce the dating system somewhat soon and Mia was supposed to be the girl to implement that and to get her second update at the same time. That would have meant that you'd start dating Mia once you had solved her family problems, and with more sucessfull dates you'd be able to get handjobs, blowjobs, etc. which then would lead to having sex eventually.*
Back then DC had an 40 to 50 day schedule and released more updates, which where much, much smaller and way less coherent.

To be fair, the incest is gone for basically a year now and the number of patreons doubled in that time from ~8000 to more than 16.000. As you see i am not mentioned DC personally, but some of his newer "fans". Game is great even in current state, but i don't think team seriously considered all the options back then, and keep tracking them now. Look at Animo. He takes all the risk and PayPal cartel still dreaming about destroying SubStar and other Patreon alternatives, but he seems doing great. DC team choose the safe way, which is my main complain about any creator since last year purges. Not saying they are collaborationists, but have doubts about SS future.
