I think it's a bigger fault of DC than then Patrons. He needs to "put his foot down" and just force the issue and do an update to fix the code.

Totally agree, and that's been a problem with too many devs in the past. It's one thing to let patrons vote/influence development, but another to let them dictate it.
Alas, the precedent was set and this is the fallout.

If he was to make update 21 do nothing but fix code with no actual content, the loudest ones who cry over everything would riot.

version 18. 18 times has restarted the game. It must be to give the impression that the time you play after waiting several months is more profitable ... Yeah I know that changing the story already written can ruin the backups but damned in this case you advance your story and after you rework. it would be more logical. it would give more variety and then the pleasure of finding again old characters. Take 8 months, 1 year to reworked the mother, aunt and sister who already had the most scenes, so quickly is a rather unwise choice.
The time of updates and the level difference between upgrades make it rather frustrating. I have the impression that I will have a white beard or darkcookie will stop the game before having more than the story of 3 or 4 characters and a majority of what? finally teasing. there is
The fact that the version is buggy despite having to start over from the beginning and the (it seems) 200 bug corrected does not help.
After many years, for that lot of money, with a crew of 7 people I expect a little more.

yea but the issue is is too much coding for Dogeek to do, DC needs to find another coder to help and this this code fixes should have being done long time ago, he just doing remodel to make an excuse to remake the coding and he simply throwing sand at people eyes with this BS content to make an excuse.

That is kind of main point of pirating. Not paying for the games which are incompleted, shitty, buggy and sharing information about it with other players, because it's bad were people are scammed of their money.
If game is worth the money, then people should alway support the developer if they have the money. Copying isn't stealing, but supporting someones hard work should be human decency.

"A long time ago" this game wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. DC didn't have plans to have a huge game that it seems to be turning into. It was a pet project of his. It blew up in popularity in the last year and, upon seeing that, decided that he needed to start reworking the code to accommodate future updates.

This patreon ALWAYS had good (if not great) funding, friend. Far as I know last year it only jumped from 30k+ to the 50k region.

In the first months the money was quite humble. The really big growth came about a year ago after 0.15 - actually just by the time he started to release those really big updates. And right now we are indeed dealing with those mistakes which have certainly been made during that first year.

Nope, I just said in what I belive in. I'm infoanarchist, don't belive in "intellectual property" and think that people should not support bad content creators.
