As said prior, not interested in Eve story at all, will wait for it to FINALLY!!!! return to the main story before I play it again.

OK, I fixed those broken rhymes for you:

I didn't play the game,
I took a save and saw the images were lame.
Eve doesn't even look the same
from previous versions of the game,
which made me discouraged, full of awe.
Few scenes there were from what I saw.
And each version has to start from scratch,
it takes away any desire to play that patch.
In short, "for me" was not worth,
if I was a supporter of this afterbirth,
this would be the moment I
would stop supporting, told you why.

Same thing here, you always have to start from scratch, you can't.
Until it's complete, I'll just take someone's save game,
to see the pictures.

You need zero old content to play the new story. It literally doesn't matter at all wether you've got a savegame or not and it's been like that with 0.17 and 0.18, too. If you want to replay the whole game, fine, but you really don't have to.
