No, if DC used AI, it would take away the one thing he's enjoys most about creating the game... Drawing. And without the one thing that makes the work enjoyable... He would likely stop working on it, leaving it where it sits.because with AI, the game would get finished in the next 5-10 years or so and DC doesn't want to derail the milk train this fast
And, on the off chance he actual found using AI okay, it means he could keep adding content as he has stated he wants to do, of several hundred NPCs... And, just like now, the posing and coding would be even more of a bottleneck than it has been for the past 4 years.
It's like people don't even think when they come up with these ideas.

Hopefully this game will actuall be revived with content rather than the endless reworking cycle. We used to get so much content, but I guess Cookie has stopped caring since he makes 90k/ month anyways for doing nothing.

The concept that someone could actually enjoy their work is anathema to many people, particularly AI bros. DC famously has been unable to accept a second artist on the project because he doesn't want to have to fix their work, and since he's currently in the endless process of redrawing old assets it seems like he can't even stand the sight of his own art after a few years.
Why on Earth would people think he'd be okay using an AI to churn out images that he'd immediately be compelled to redraw?

Since AI are particularly awful, that will make this game a fucking dumpster fuck.
Just the AI art that we got on this thread show how trash it is.
That will never happen, but if DC decided to do that, it will officially sign the death of the game since a majority of people will stop supporting it and playing it.

With such a Mindset, you are a shity Artist. "Artists" who likes Ai shouldn't call themself Artist anymore. Real Artists make their Art themself and wouldn't use Ai. Real Artists would do anything they can to not use Ai for their Art.

Right now, nothing new that's worth it. Too much stuff is missing, some new art and things like that.
I would say you can try it if you want but it's really, really mid right now.
Almost ten years old lol. 9 years in devs want to re do everything and take another ten years to get back to where it was story wise. I feel bad for anyone funding this joke. Why not start another project with new tech. wtf?

AI doesn't provide much advantage to DC for the moment. The current quality is perhaps 85% of DC's original work. AI provides an advantage to someone who doesn't know how to draw, as they can suddenly produce images near DC's art quality with no involved skills. It's perfect for fan art.
That being said, the current Summertime Saga AI art that you see around isn't the best that AI can do. The model people are using, Pony trained on sdxl, doesn't follow prompt well. Also, the lora, the part of the model that was trained on Summertime Saga's images, isn't perfect for various reason. Future models, however, will increase the quality of the artwork, including prompt adherence. Eventually, AI images will look authentic and be capable of replacing what DC produces. The same is true with the rest of the game, AI will be capable of generating the story and game itself. At that time, we'll essentially have an infinite Summertime Saga.
