Sure, no one here is making that money, unless they're heading one of these games or whatever, but he could've turned this into more. I mean, if you had a golden egg given to you, would you hatch it or make an omelet?

It is a straight up SCAM. Plots have beginnings, middles, and ends. The dev never once planned to finish this game, or it would have a beginning, middle, and end, and he'd be working on SS2 right now after successfully completing a game ya'll sucked his nuts over and paid him several million dollars for. There is NO EXCUSE to not have finished product for several million dollars and 5+ years of development time for a fucking 2D POINT AND CLICK PORN GAME. Straight up fucking scam.

Amen. I played this game once back when I found this site a couple years back. It's ok. It's fine. I wouldn't have guessed the dev to be so successful from it alone and I don't know how people support him still.

I honestly think the "most patreon money is made by people that have no idea they're still subbed" theory is true. This dev just doesn't work, lol.

I'm an average coder. Average at best. If two years ago he hired me to port his game from renpy to a bespoke, in-house engine I'd have had it finished in full no more than 6 months later...and that's stretching it and doing full debugging.
It's images, audio, text and clicking/screen selection. Something like Unity or Godot would be too powerful for that, lol. I could write a basic text-based story engine in a week tops. Add a week for the others.
This is not a 2-4 year job, lol.

Well lads, this is certainly top entertainment, I never thought DC would be gutsy enough to release this. I used to support him like 5 years ago, but stopped, once I realized the guy is an asshole. And if you're having a blast in here you should check discord. The devs are going nuts telling people off left and right and saying "why are you complaining about some free shit" people just respond saying the game is getting paid for by people backing it and that that fact alone doesn't warrant this shite. Fucking hell, this is like watching the bloody Hindenburg or the Titanic. You know this isn't going to end well. I reckon DC has enough brain-dead followers to keep some money going, but if you have two functioning brain cells, backing this shitshow is beyond question.

I'm personally very amused by the idea that it has dated topical Trump vs Hillary jokes in it, and the tech update has now been lost in the abyss for so long that Trump will be in office again by the time you can play that content in it :ROFLMAO:

i've been saying this for years. they have a literal working model for reference, all they had to do was optimize and refactor the code.

they wouldn't be paying $60,000 per month for nothing...or close to nothing. It's just insanity.
