No he was just bad at coding. Dogeek got fired for a multitude of reasons and then only after did they realize how bad the spaghetti code was. It was built in a way that was convoluted, only made sense to him, and the game was barely holding together. So Stray has to make the remaster’s code from scratch. But because of the languid work environment created by DC and the lack of accountability for missing deadlines, the tech update is still unfinished. That’s why what was expected to take 4 months has instead taken nearly 4 years with still no end in sight.

I do know that v21.0.0 does launch much much faster than any version since v0.15.0 every had. And it runs much smoother.

That alone shows previous coding sucked shit in comparison.

It does not prove anything definitively. This new version is missing so much content that it would be fast even if the new code was still shit.

Im playing actively around 180 games (184) from my porn games library lol, from Renpy to Unity, RPGM, etc game engines, even old little flash games, from fantasy to harem type, sandbox to VNs, etc. Its a pain to ass having to download everyday an update to one of those 184, in true less as some are completed or abandoned, but alas, its boring as hell downloading always some new content for a game i play and keep...
If you really only play fifteen games or around, i can only give you my congratz, thats mean you dont lose that many time with this, as i do.
I had 15 games only too, in my pc library... In 2018... I miss those free times i had years ago between weekly updates, not dairy ones as i suffer now...

does dogeek have a twatter acount or something? i want to ask him if he's really as shit at coding as DC says or if there is more to the story than that. i also wonder why nobody else in the team noticed that the game was build on dogeeks spaghetti code for the whole time (how many years was it?) they were working together

You've been posting in this thread for over 6 years and several usernames. You know the full story - it's been talked about over and over again in the thread. Your first post on F95 was in this thread - you're very aware of the whole kit n kaboodle.

someone should ask dogeek on twitter what he thinks about DC and his team solely blaming him for this mess. they make him look like a complete idiot who didn't know wtf he was doing and there is always two sides to a story.

i still think it's sus that they let him do his thing for 2 years without asking him once why he is naming things "booger aids" or whatever. the complete lack of oversight about what his sole coder is doing is definitely on DC. i think he just didn't care as long as the patreon money didn't stop. simple as.

I don’t know anything about coding so I can’t say myself. I do think it was pretty bad though. The tech update would have had to happen sooner or later since the game was barely holding together. They said they might have been able to do Ronda’s update, but wouldn’t have been able to do Annie’s and Judith’s after that without fixing the code first.

My only issue is that they haven’t made any real effort at speeding up the coding. Only now, after nearly 4 years, is he finally talking about maybe getting another coder to help Stray.

Can someone tell me whats going on with this game? I feel like its been a long time since I last played and when I played last it was mostly complete. Mainstory I pretty much saw it as mostly resolved. I won't spoil anything here of course. But since then there has beene like 7 updates. Is there actually new content or is it like other devs who just add random shit and call it a new update to keep post up near the top of the the recent list? Its been a solid year or so since i last played, and reading the changer log it seems like it mostly pathing and framework updates?
