Yes. That would be a dumb thing to think. Given the size and complexity of the codebase, and knowing the engine it uses, a couple of competent developers should be able to refactor the whole thing in about six weeks. I've done bigger projects in less time all by myself.I'm saying that you are just as dumb as they are for thinking a tech update (given the size of this game) would take three to four months.
If they're not just fixing code, but are also redoing all the art from scratch, then it would take longer. Yet even as well, there is no reason for it to take years.
They have enough money to pay a team to work full time. In the time they have spent, if they really were working full time, they could have put out twenty times as much content.
I'm not saying they are doing anything wrong. They are following the rules. If users are willing to pay them for delays, then it's smart to delay, and hurrying would be a bad choice.
I just think it's silly for people to try and claim they're hurrying. They're not. They are going as slow as possible. We all know that.
