I don't think it will apply in this case.
Given that he's still active with status updates/progress reports on Patreon + live streams of doing things at least related to the game's development, that will probably negate the application of Abandoned status here.

Da rules. See section 3, item 2 for the guidelines on the "Abandoned" tag, which notes that one of the conditions for the tag is "No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months)". Since the last update was October 31, 2022, the tag should apply after April 30, 2024.

it will recieve abandoned tag (or so i've heard) if the game here doesn't get updated with-in a years' time.
Re-read what I wrote, then read and take into account the other conditions for that rule.

- Abandoned: used in the following cases:
- The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
- After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
- No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
- Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
- Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.
We've had cases like this before, where a dev continues to provide regular correspondence and status/progress reports through various platforms but does not release a game update, and the tag has been applied in kind after 18 months. "Dual Family" and "Come Inside" are the two most prominent. Summertime Saga would certainly be an unusual case given DC's monthly progress reports and regular Picarto streams, but by the letter of the law it should still receive the "Abandoned" tag on the date that I noted.

It's 18 months, as I have stated a multitude of times in this thread and have even given the exact date that it would be eligible for consideration for the "abandoned" tag: April 30, 2024. Of which you are well aware from your popping in and out. Mark the date, and then use the REPORT button on OP to request the tag. F95 Staff will then make their decision.
And then should DC eventually put an update out, May 1, 2024 or May 1, 2025 or whenever... the tag will be removed. The tag does nothing but act as a placebo for those on this site who can't get what they want when they want it how they want it but continue to demand they deserve it and are owed it. DC will just keep doing what he do because it's obvious that he doesn't care about the dooblie-do that goes on in this doo-doo.

I didn't say they were dependant on each other. In fact, I've been very specific in the words I've used on this matter already, so again, go back and re-read what I wrote.
By the "letter of the law" is a terrible stance to take, largely because when rules have multiple conditions, they can be used to oppose each other based solely upon inevitable interpretation of how and when they can conflict with eachother. As it stands, the condition that mentions 18 months is written as "> 18 months".
The use of ">" alone is not specific because it's open to interpretation - At months or over 18 months?
Both can be argued, which is another example of the rules being left ambiguous in parts meaning that it not only requires direct action from staff but makes "the letter of the law" utterly stupid because of how the rule is written.
In this case they already make provision for special circumstances under one condition, which leads to direct intervention from staff and deciding on either strict adherence to the written rule or applying an exception based upon the state of meeting other conditions.
In the event of staff looking into it directly, they'll be applying their interpretation which may or may not be strict adherence as that condition is written due to the status of other conditions.
There is also the consideration that it was already made public knowledge that this tech-update would take far longer to do because patrons voted for one big tech update instead of several smaller ones.
On a sidenote, this debate is infinitely better than rereading the same old, tired whineyness/bitchiness directed at a developer.
Should have stuck a "he'll do that voodoo that he do so well" in there... Alas, missed opportunity.

would be surprised if he still posted instead he sins of the father type punishes this thread and not update the game here cause some bad apples existed imma be fr.
but like i said from the beginning: i just need to know when i can eat the popcorn, cause you already know that i know updates take time. to be frank i'm just lurking. wouldn't hurt if you could reply to me at what time there's big dramea so i can see it.

Wow. You "just joined" so you could say that. Hmmmm....
I believe that all this waiting will be rewarded. because since I remember in the last big update, DC delivered much more than he promised, and (at least for me) there is a lot to improve and he realized that, my favorite character (debby) for example, in the last stream from DC, she has been gaining a lot of notoriety and improvements, especially in her breasts, however, all this delay is tiring, when I played the first time Summertime Saga it was over 4 years old, I know this because a friend of mine's son was born in the same period, and the boy is already studying :')
Just remember, don't get your hopes up expecting more than a big technical update.
If there's more, then yay!
If not, at least a big chunk of tech rework should be done & dusted and then onward with filling in side content.

It might be something specific to you or your device. Or... seeing as how the current version of the game was last updated in October 2022 and the version of Ren'Py used was 7.3.5 (which was released in October 2019) and you're playing on an OS that was released October 2023, I'm not entirely surprised.
You could try downloading JoiPlay and the PC version of the game and give it a shot. Otherwise, you may have to wait until the Tech Update is released - whenever that will be.
