Mate, I have a live outside of waiting for the next update for some lewd game. I don't have much of a horse in this race.
Maybe the tech upgrade took to long and wasn't worth it. But honestly maybe it was necessary because the code before was a total mess? I'm not gonna deep-dive to evaluate that.
I am simply pointing out that complaining about lack of content for a tech update is retarded.
If you wonna complain that it took to long go ahead, seems appropriate but also doing anything is hard, doing anything well is downright impossible.

If this was what I accomplished after two years of being paid like this I wouldn't have a job, nor would anyone else here. Scratch that, make it a few months. He's been coasting along because he's had ZERO incentive to do anything, he still gets paid for doing nothing. That's my issue. The exploitation and the morons defending it.

Were it a hobby project they were doing out of the good of their hears? I'd understand. Hell I'd be greatful of anything. Were it a second job and/or they were pausing funding because they weren't doing anything? I'd understand. But no.

Okay so the game update is basically in 2 years.

New source code=New Engine basically.

• The game is now widescreen and higher resolution (varied across platforms).
• Many new locations across town have been added to the map (and you'll be able to visit them all).
• All locations have been improved visually and extended (art, buttons, crowds, etc).
• UI, buttons and navigation improved and streamlined.
• Jenny's story has been improved and updated with a bit of new content.
• Debbie's story is relatively the same (some parts use old art and no pregnancy yet) but we added various improvements.
• First day of school has been reworked with new art and content to introduce players to the game.

It took about 2 years, but before we get angry and all about the update time etc.

*Starting with this release we are switching our focus to bringing familiar content into the new engine and releasing our progress every 2 months'

This means 'probably' that somewhere on the 8th month, 10th month and 12th month we will be getting updates this year.

since we got litte to no updates in 2 years, it went to from almost nothing
to about 6 updates a year. And this year we will be getting 3-4.
next we get 2-3 more?

Since the tech-update isn completed
what will possibly change during this time?

1 most likely fixing current bugs along the way both by adding content and adressing issues.

2 possibly more 'functions' to the game? Since the engine has been update it possibly is stronger?
So he might have more mini-games etc or/and even improving the old mini-games?

3 perhaps a no-need for cheating=causing bugs to story etc?...
like perhaps he'll make a 'story' version type and a sandbox version like some games has?
like story version without grind, almost like as if you had 'cheated'

5 *we will also be slipping in some new additions for players to enjoy each update.'

That means he might be adding new girls along the way of the upcoming tech-updates, and not just 'update'
the old arts.

So instead of raging and all, how about we wait untill christmas to make some 'judgement' of how
things are going/progressing etc?

'browse' your feelings on the matter...

I hate that this is where things have gone. This game and Dating my Daughter got me introduced to adult games in the first place. I supported this game up til the first missed deadline of the Tech-Update. Such a shame to see things end this way. At least I can still download the 20.16 version and play what exists (and likely all that will exist).

NO... this is pititful for 2 years , its also not a new engine. ren'py is the game engine and you are just scripting. ren'py reads everything as one big script anyway. they basically just said their old code base / scripts were so shit (and due to DC constantly losing programmers) new programmers brought on likely couldnt understand it or didnt want to spend the time learning the code base and trying to to work with it.

DC is a professional grifter at the worst and a half-grifter half-incompetent business owner at best.

You will have to wait until someone makes a new one.

Yep, the existing one breaks the game, it gives a persistent error (Syntax) due to Aunt Debbie and the game won't load. So don't waste your time and don't try it.
