The game was far mor along in the story, the russians the mayor auntys milk barn to name a fiew parts we can´t do any more (yet I hope). All we needed was a fiew minor completions of story lines and it would have been done.

Right, so I don't know much about the legal bits, but I believe that in his current arrangement he has no legal obligation to ever finish this. His career is creating Summertime Saga - not completing it. Moral obligations aside, that's how I think it is.

The only 'obligation' he has is to honor Patreon's terms, as that's the framework of any financial support he receives. And we've talked about that in this thread at length - those terms do not 'obligate' him to deliver any content at all, let alone finish anything. He is not beholden to a production schedule or timeline.

When you back someone on Patreon, you are supporting their talent and their ideas. Not their output. That support brings certain perks (wallpapers, early access, etc), but it doesn't assure new content.

His Patreon supporters either understand this in a way the whingers around here do not, or they simply don't care (either from apathy or ignorance). Either way, it's their money to part with as they please.

Putting aside the criticism of DC for a second, the quests of this update is honestly pretty good. In my own personal preference, Remake Debbie art sometimes didn't look that good. But the couch scene with Debbie in this update is really good for both art and story switching.

As many rightly criticized, it is a shame that he has again released significantly less content in two months and not even kept two months. Even more so considering he said the completion of Debbie's story eight months ago.

But I'm sure it will be the best part of the game when Debbie's story and her pregnancy content are done. I hope he will complete it in the remaining half a year.

Technically was asked for. He asked his patrons via a poll at one point, would you like the rest of the content first or the tech update, and I believe overwhelmingly it was the tech update. I have to assume people would have voted differently if they knew almost 3 years later here we would be with barely 10% of the content in the updated version of the game lmao.

That is true the supporters voted for it but when they were asked about it, DC said that the tech update would only take around 9 months. If they knew that 4 years later the tech update would be nowhere near to being finished I highly doubt that they would've voted for it.

It was a choice between tech update and Rhonda's update. If fans voted for Rhonda, we'd still be here but with Rhonda's content in the old "stable" version. That's all.

You also know the reason for the tech update and the modders who have intimate knowledge of the code that have said from their experience the tech update was needed and the code was barely holding together.

All saves for v0.20.x only work for v0.20.x

All saves from v21.0.0-wip.4468 and later only work for v21.0.0-wip.4468 and later.

When DC first brought up the tech update in his streams he brought up a lot of stuff that never materialized. In fact he dropped some of it almost as soon as it had been voted for. Like updating the old art and bringing it all to the new rig system. First release of the tech update, what does he do? Tries to sneak 2016 Debbie art through the front door.

He pushed for that update hard on streams, by gassing it up, and shitting on other poll options. That, and the way things have gone since, is why I can't shake the feeling that DC used the tech update as a way to lower his workload and take largely a break. Got burnt out, but wanted to keep cashing cheques.

Except that's not correct.

The new rig system (which wasn't actually initially going to be part of the tech update) is what the coder built (and has been mentioned many times in this thread) for the posers to pose the characters on. From 2 Dec 2023:

Originally just widescreen conversion and some QoL updates. They very quickly realized a couple things. One whole thing needed to be reposed and it was going to take more than a couple months like they figured. Two the rig system they'd used for posing the last few years isn't very user friendly. Three the code needed major surgery instead of their tried and true method of plastering it with band aids and hoping that'd magically fix the problems.
So Stray built a new rig system, so they had to re-export all 15k of the games assets, it turns out DC sucks at naming them and they have no clue where anything is. So they had to go through all 15k assets one by one to re-label them in a consistent manner, Oops DC was a lazy idiot who half assed a ton of assets and they all needed to be fixed.
So once all that was done they started reposing the game, while Stray started major surgery on the codebase in essence this is now a full rebuild of the game.

As for your claim about Debbie - From 1 Jul 2021:

The tech update is supposed to add a widescreen resolution - which means every background and cut scene has to be expanded by hand - and some technical improvements. The art and animations will stay as they are until the characters who still need to be updated (mainly Debbie, Mia, Erik and the teachers) win their polls.

So, no. Nothing you said was correct and it took me 2 minutes of searching for code posing in one search and Debbie art tech in another to find the information you could have done to verify your claims before posting.

You summed up rather precisely what I wanted to say - if I was more eloquent and had more confidence in what I was talking about. I have no personal opinion on anything to do with the game or DC, except perhaps that I am keen to give the game a go whenever it's fully complete. Cheers.

Guys , i played the older version of game long time ago until in-game walkthrough disappeared then i stopped playing .
2 months ago when got back here i found after the tech and downloaded v21.0.0 -wip -5605 , i found old saves is not playable and game started over again with less content than the older version and all places is opened even new places i didnt play in the older version, i knew i finished it after unlocking all scenes in the gallery .
So what happened ? why they start over ? and why there is no different content where is the rework ?

Game's broken because the creator hired a useless schizo of a coder who broke the game and the creator has been trying to "fix" it for the last four years. Come back in another...let's see, Debbie's rework has taken four years, there are another dozen characters to go...carry the five...yeah I don't see it getting to a playable state this side of 2040. Sorry.

This. I've been here since 2016-2017 waiting for Judith content.I realized it'll never come a year into the tech, but it doesn't hurt to read a log every half a year or so and laugh at comments for a bit.

luckily im one of those people who like the game but I'm not overly waiting for it as there's many other games to play, I'm like oh hey its still going cool and get back to my day playing something else. it feels kinda sad to be mad like think about normal AAA games and how long they take (cough gta6 cough) I think I can wait on a less important porn game lol.
