F95 must create a new thread for v21.0.0 and future releases and keep this thread for v0.20.16 (and the [ABANDONED] flag). There is no good-faith reason to mix the two.

1. The reviews from this thread are for everything released up to v0.20.16 and they have all been invalided by adding v21.0.0 in here. The current review score is STRONGLY misleading as it does NOT reflect the quality of v21.0.0 in any way. The only way to keep reviews relevant is to separate the old and new games each in their own threads.

2. There is a need for two threads also because the promise made back in 2020 by DC to re-release the game IN FULL has been broken, spectacularly so. Consequently, v21.0.0 is NOT a successor to v0.20.16. Maybe it will be at some point but that's VERY far into a VERY uncertain future as we're witnessing a v21.0.0 that's been 3+ years in the making and it came out with 10% of the promised content and out of that, half is content that was literally copy-pasted from v0.20.16. At this pace parity between v21.0.0 and v0.20.16 will take years and there is no good-faith reason to confuse users in the meantime.

They will not do that. That argument has been made for other games that had remakes and the mods never created new threads for those games.

And it's a disturbingly common pattern... look at Subverse for example. Eastern developers aren't perfect of course... MGQ Paradox, lol. But he still has more complete games under his belt at least than 99% of the western games on this site (and I don't count Paradox part 1/2 as a complete game lol).

Not all western devs, not all asian devs, but yeah, still. I don't know what the cultural difference is that even slow Asian devs steadily actually finish their stuff or at least make consistent progress while western devs go "wow everyone likes this cool thing I made WHELP kthxbye" and turns into stardust before shimmering away in the wind.

It's mindboggling to me. Yes it takes work but this dude could finish Summertime Saga and let it sit milking with nothing but positivity and zero guilt just like Monster Girl Quest and similar popular games and make oodles even if chose to never make anything else.

I can't believe there are nearly 30,000 paid members in this ridiculous game.
There are a lot of promising games that are much better than this... I think this was just lucky.
I hope you use your sponsorship in a better way.

True, I forgot about that game. But even that was like 5 years ago and I don't know any other game where they made a new thread for the remake.
I kind of get why mods wouldn't want to do that, since every dev seems to do remakes now. It would just be a pain in the ass.

Man, as much of a clusterfuck as this game is, I'm eternally grateful for the /weg/ memes on 4chan. I laugh every single time someone posts the iconic boobstare.jpg and everyone mass-replies to it. It never gets old.

The big difference is that the game is widescreen now. There are a few new locations, a few small new scenes and some changes to the UI and that is it. They didn't even bother with updating debbie's sprites for this update.

Lol, for some reason when I am about to trigger the night pool scene with Diane and Debbie, I get the message "It sounds like someone is messing around the pool", but nothing happens. More specifically, I got outside the pool, where Diane and Debbie were supposed to be in the pool, there is only the towels with their drinks near the pool, their character sprite or whatever is nowhere to be seen.
