You thought wrong. This dev is clearly a grifter, lmao. Goes afk for months at a time, throws a random scrap to the supporters every few months and drowns in patreon money. I wish I'd thought of pulling a scam like this back in 2016. Sadly I'm not a grifter, so it didn't occur to me.

anyone know how to fix this? I can't back up out of the dialogue and now I'm stuck getting this and can't push past it.

Just delete the game and reinstall it, the saves should remain.

As you post on a site where 90%+ of us (including you and me) come specifically to play games while depriving the developers compensation for doing so (no matter who the developers are).

Though, if the only game/VN you're playing is Summertime Saga without subscribing or offering compensation - you are not a grifter, because Dark Cookie makes it available for free to the public.

I can see this game still isn't complete and I feel vindicated. I was a backer of this game around 3 or so years ago and canceled because I felt it was a scam. The dev was making around 70k a month and I recall people on patreon were also criticising and demanding the dev hire a team to make the game develop quicker. Now it seems to have regressed in content and the excuse is "tech updates". It's quite laughable. I appreciate a dev who enhances or touches up their game to better it but this has gotten worse. I also laughed at the hand drawings... XD

I mean say whatever you want, dev's still a scammer. People who aren't going to ever pay for your game aren't scamming you. They're just not... buying your crap. You don't get to count that as "lost" money, or if you believe that's true I'll claim 10 billion dollars in lost money when I DM you and demand 10 billion and you say no.

This is so cooked, we are not going to be able to play this game. GTA VI's PC version will be released before this game if ever.

Considering that GTA 6 is being released later this year, and considering that DC isn't even close to being 50% done with Summertime, (as far as I know) you sir are correct. GTA 6 will be released before this game finishes.

Though I'd be really surprised if DC does release the full game before GTA, but considering how long it took to take us to this point, the odd for that happening is 0%.

I think you miss the point - Summertime Saga will most likely never be "finished" or "completed" --- at least not for 10 or 20 years or longer. Even once the tech update is done --- if and when that ever is, there are still the 3 content updates expected after. Then the dance story line. Then DC has stated he wants to add more and more characters for the MC to interact with.

As he stated in a 2017 interview:

He's going to keep doing stuff with Summertime Saga until he tires of doing it.

For people who are completists, this is not the game for them.

To be fair, I think F95 might cease to exist as a site faster (either some new futuristic laws banning porn or the admins close due to other reasons) than SS gets ever finished. I think we just should accept the fact that it's sort of shovelware with no beginning or end, more like a consumable for a quick fap then move on.
