we will play gta x on a different planet and in a different century. during this time of course the summertime saga will be unfinished. probably the developer will be working on a re-re-re-re-remastered version.

It shouldn't shock anyone at this point.
I've said it earlier in the thread, but I'll say it again: If you see DC drawing something on his streams, as far back as a month out from an expected update, it's probably not making the next update. That's how rough him and his "team" can be. They take a month to implement art into the game.
I'll put it to you another way. If we get to early March, and you see DC still drawing Debbie at like the dinner table, the update isn't getting completed in that 2 month cycle.
Now having said this, if you've been clamouring for updates, you should count your lucky stars DC has decided to update every two months. If you let him "take as long as he needs" and release a complete update one shot these days, well, we might as well shut down and archive the thread for another 2 years.

What a disappointment, he claimed the last update would've been much bigger if he had 4-5 days more till deadline, you would expect a complete route this update, since the leftover scenes from last update + this 2 months would be enough, but nah.
Bro just keeps milking. there are some real good games out there that died due to lack of funding, here it is the opposite. It has stagnated so hard, because DC is drowning in money.

Next update will show us little progress on Debbie’s route! Mark my words, Debbie s route only will be finished after half of the year, giving DC about a year of delay on the developing and the delivery of the tech update! On the past, DC occasionaly published on one update only his characters previous routes that usually was takes about 3 montes between the updates! Evidentes Debbie s new route is just a pretext to give him even more time

Sure not, I am not the one who takes the liberty to claim, that it would be better to close this thread and archive it.
But the one who is upset that a game doesn't seem to become what he was promised 7-2 years ago as a supporter has imho an understandable reason to vent in this thread. While the one who is only looking for free games has what reason exactly to wish this thread to be closed?

My argument that closing and dusting the thread would probably do more harm to do DC is working under the logic (which many of the people against him share btw) that this very thread has influence over the development. So should the thread get locked, and not constantly bumped up to first page, that logic would dictate that DC would slowly be bereft of support. Since lack of exposure = less people jump on the ship.
Of course if you're of the opinion that the thread here means basically squat in the grand scheme of the development (a very hot take) then closing it will of course do nothing...but neither does keeping it around, since it doesn't really matter, eh?
It'd be cool if the thread got locked down and tagged as abandoned. Because the game is dead, and its corpse is being puppeted around. It's stupid. Anyone who says stripping out 90% of the content to "remake" it over the course of 5-8 years isn't actionable is full of shit. This site isn't the biggest thing, but it outright stating "nah, this game is abandoned" even if it doesn't meet the most stick-up-the-ass technical definition of it would impact a lot of people. They'd consider the game dead. Is that fair? Who fucking cares, man. Hypothetically let's say it has this massive impact, and it dries up funding for this game, and it dies. Good. This whole thing is embarrassing.
Porn games get more leeway for their unprofessional, stupid dev behavior than the biggest, most predatory AAA game publisher. You don't have to be a programmer or software engineer to know that there's no reason this kind of game takes this long. Even starting from scratch shouldnt' take this long. There's barely any player reactivity or branching paths, which are the biggest consideration when it comes to visual novels. There's a couple inventory management events, and a few timed minigames, that's it. Especially since this is in Ren'Py. It was made with the express purpose of streamlining making this kind of game. The way people talk ~the code~, you'd think it was a complex physics engine or intricate hero shooter with multiple systems all working off each other in a delicate ballet. It's Ren'Py text and images. The most complex stuff is making sure a few events dont' trigger out of order, and that's a basic flowchart. This is not Baldur's Gate 3, it's Summertime Saga. I've seen what goes into a Ren'Py game. Their complexity has never justified almost a decades worth of development time.
This is taking longer than Red Dead Redemption 2. It's on track to being worse than Duke Nukem Forever. Fuck it, bring it out back and put a bullet in it. Maybe Dark Cookie will get the message and finally shit or get off the pot.
