I'm joking but you're right. I feel like Patreon is a perverse incentive for this sort of game; that's why I'd rather buy the game, even if I'm paying more for it, if I want to support the dev.

I will remind everyone that this developer milked their supporters for three years and only when this game got slapped with an abandoned tag for the first time did they magically have an update to release two weeks later. Just letting the new people know.

I recently learned the dev behind A Town Uncovered is a fan of DC/STS and decided to develop his own WEG after being inspired by Summertime, and his game was just released on Steam as a final release early this year.

Has DC got people other than himself working on this game? I understand the reason behind the re-coding but surely he'd want to hire the additional staff so that more can be updated according to his development schedule?

Yes, he's had a team for most of the years of development. It is the coding side of the team for the early years (DC's inexperience in coding, coder(s) with terrible habits, coderks) with their own agendas, etc) that have placed the game to a point where the code needed to be restarted from acratch. You can learn more on the official website, the game's wiki, the discord, or even the pics to streams. Also, been discussed here for years.

I guarantee this update is probably going to suck. I'm clearly just waiting for Kassy and Ivy to both get pregnant—which is why I’ll probably hold off on paying for the Patreon until next year. You know, it’s probably going to be a long time before it actually happens. And if it doesn’t, well, there’s still art out there showing that they were supposed to be pregnant during development, or at least it seemed like it.

I hate how much I love this game, it was one of the first ones I played after all I saw people commenting on the game in groups in 2017, especially about Eve, the soundtrack, art and story made it worth every second, seeing the current state is sad, but it happens.
