I think your argument might be a bit too complex for him to understand.
Aww, allowing me to live rent free. TYVM - but the accommodations are a bit dank, yet drafty at the same time. Also, the plumping appears rotted out. In addition, the lights are out and won't turn on. But thanks anyway.

And you passive-aggressively insulting me, and failing in the attempt, doesn't change the fact that Dark Cookie is going to do what he wants.

Its so weird, why are people talking about this game? It was shit from the start. I remember playing it in I think early 2019 and it was so bad I stopped playing erotic games all together for over a year. What a disgrace, and its short game too. Took two days to finish 70% of it and then I was done. I realized that the porn game industry is just like any other industry. And any other industry needs toilets and toilet paper so people can wipe their fucking ass and this game fulfills that function as do quite a few other retarded works by retarded people. I could care less.

Who cares if he earns money from it, the toilet paper industry does so as well. I say this, if people want higher quality games, they simply need to focus on them instead of wasting their time on this specific one. Don't consider the people posting here nor the people involved making the game people, just random waste designed to pretend this game matters.

For me, the worst thing about this game is that this whole project clearly lacked passion. If the quality was there I would say otherwise but this game is as generic, boring and bankrupt as they come. But I've seen developers making games both in higher quality and faster than this chum does and theres a lot of them. Adding 200 NPCs my ass and it sounds like fanwank to me, and its clear that the developer is their biggest fan after all, which by itself is fine. Adding 1 new NPC or a million clearly will never matter for most people who're simply reading this comment section.

For me, this game has been dead since 2022, with no meaningful updates what so ever. And no matter how much you make the piece of toilet paper softer with a remaster, it is still fucking toilet paper. Shitting on it just increases its value and volume and in the end, it doesn't matter if you use that or lets say a page of a newspaper. Hell, writing all of this is more fun than playing this game, so what gives?

I was merely highlighting the complexity of the argument.
Feel free to ask for further clarification when struggling to understand what others say.

There's definitely better AVNS than it but you can't deny the fact that DC makes the best 2D scenes ..

Out of the 70% or so I've seen, about 30% of them seemed fapable but it was drawn over by the tedious and boring story. The teasing scenes were nice, but even other games of similar "quality" done them better.

Some japanese simulation type games do this sort of masterfully but here the fapmaterial was thin, again its not really a problem with the scene itself but most things around it. I can go to a booru or r34 and just fap to the images instead. The shit I make up in terms of plot while doing so is miles better than this generic garbage. I wish I could forget playing this game and just focus on the art instead.

The quality of the art however is solid and its also what people remember from it. I'm not hating, just thinking that this games legacy fullfilled its purpose, maybe in 10 years I can come back seeing how much has improved. But just like the toilet paper industry that shit is gonna take some time :KEK:

Exactly..this game definitely got me into AVNS initially..but after seeing other AVNS especially with good writing..it was no longer about the lewd scenes for me..I need good writing first in order to play the game

Personally I'm talking about this game because I started playing it Sunday, so for me it's still "fresh" content. And at least the pre-tech "update" version is fun - it has lots of sex content, a good mix of minigames and exploration.

Other people might be talking about it for other reasons. Some might be excited to justify buying a bridge, highlighting all the good intentions of the seller; some might be actually disgruntled fans; some might be whatever, just here for the drama. Hard to generalise.

Who cares if he earns money from it, the toilet paper industry does so as well. I say this, if people want higher quality games, they simply need to focus on them instead of wasting their time on this specific one. It's a mix of both things, really. People using your software is a joy on its own, so you're right on that. But money matters too, and if you can get money by doing almost nothing odds are that you'll do just that. So the suckers who keep Patreon-ising projects that'll never progress are part of the problem.
Reusing your toilet paper example, it's like you got morons paying for TP with spikes. If enough people do it you'll end seeing nothing but spiked shit wiper in the market.
(That's why I actually bought a few of those games, even if I could play them for free here. To encourage devs doing the right thing, instead of delaying development.)

Adding 200 NPCs my ass and it sounds like fanwank to me,
I guess it's easier to market something based on numbers than quality. Quality can't be measured.

For me, this game has been dead since 2022, with no meaningful updates what so ever.
From what I've gathered, yup, pretty much.

Yeah I've criticized that a lot. Its the #1 reason and way on why games become devoid from passion. Trying to thrive and strive for money is what incentivizes people to make a good high quality. People can spend the money however they like, even if its garbage like that. It only further proves both our arguments.

My point was, the sex game industry is still an industry and thus it is full of scammers, or those that scam but don't realize they do so. However, scamming also is part of the industry no matter how much of a dark horse it is. It is necessary because unfortunately the systems built around it are designed in such a way, which in turn people can use to have information ready to understand what games are in development forever and what kind of games actually see completion. Its the systems that incentivize developers to scam their fanbase, its not alone the developers that do so. The reason why Summertime Saga and lets say Taffy Tales go no where is because of that very reason. These developers are victims just like the gullible people that care about these games, the tragedy is that they don't realize this very fact.

A way to circumvent this issue is to force Patreon and Subscribestar to kick out anyone that supports a person, with the goal force people to resubscribe every month manually, so people can come up with reasons if they really want to waste their money on this shit. The dev should get their license to earn money revoked every month as well with the requirement to fill out a digital form in order to incentivize working on their product as long as they have a patreon. Its tedius but it makes both parties aware of what they do and what it means.

It should not be easy to support a developer during the process of making the game in the way Patreon or Subscribestar does. Rather it should be mandatory to support the developer mostly through manual donations or simply buying their product during the period of which the game is in development and after, just like most other games. Simple as that.

Patreon was developed by creators for creators --- not for the fans. Also, forcing people to manually re-up would cost them money as well - them and Subscribestar. So that will never happen. So, we're stuck with the funding system that is set up.

Got it - it's a fair point.

That would be damn great but sadly odds are that it'll never happen. Those systems get 5~12% of that money, so they benefit from the suckers.

That is absolutely not true. The "by creators for creators" is an implication that everyone is both a fan and a creator inside this space. Its a marketing term to attract people and to give them value, even though both "fan" and "creator" mean jack shit here.

It doesn't matter if you disagree or not. If you exchange "creators" with "gullible suckers" that whole logical structure still is the same and it doesn't take away the fact that Subscribestar doesn't follow the same marketing structure nor approach in attracting people.

I'm sorry if this was already talked about here, but for those who have problems with this game in JoiPlay, the last update did not work for me (wimp.5791) but the previous one did work for me (wimp.5258).
This is with the latest version of JoiPlay (1.20.550) and the latest RenPy plugin available (8.3.3). I hope it helps.
