Yes. See my FAQ: #80,537is the tech update version of the game shorter than the other releases?
DC has no reason to release more content. Since he started working on the tech update the lowest his sub count got, was 25k patrons and now that he is releasing these small updates he has over 30k.I had been scrubbing through the streams, so I expected this, but still.
Basically 2 real quests this update.
DC spent an excess of time drawing a still picture parody of the Great British Bake Off (used this update, but not remotely essential), the stock room for Cupid (not used this update), an Asian restaurant with two waitresses (not used this update), and updates to the mall bathroom (not used this update).
All that whilst clearly running behind on the bikini changing room scenes.
Now, he did also add alternate angles of those two bathroom preview scenes, and the two major quests he did are decent enough, but it this output rate is underwhelming to say the least. DC's lead coder has expressed on stream his disappointment at the lack of content they're getting out in each update on stream, and this does nothing to quell those issues.
Most of his patrons most likely still pay because they simply keep forgetting to cancel their one-dollar subscription and don't really care. All the new backers who just discover SS are amazed by the huge game it already is, and start supporting. Not knowing, that the story wont continue for several years...and then many of them will forget to cancel too, and so on.Just so we're clear, in DarkCookie's own words, Debbie's update was supposed to be fully complete at the start of the year but they couldn't do it because 'they needed a few more days to do the full update but would miss their 2 months deadline' so they released it incomplete (claiming only days of work could've finished it)
We're 6 months in and he still claims the next update will be last of her story, so he essentially milked 1 update for 8 months. The people who are paying for this turd fest have got to be on Star Citizen levels of delusion.
Oh, I know.DC has no reason to release more content. Since he started working on the tech update the lowest his sub count got, was 25k patrons and now that he is releasing these small updates he has over 30k.
He has more than enough resources to hire people to help him. He just doesn't want to.
So unless there is a massive drop in support for the game, the size and/or speed of the releases will not increase.
On the internet? Absolutely. Real life? Doubtful. I've only and so far seen this expression in senior people (especially when discussing politics), whom just discovered the internet or became accustomed to it after learning the basics. The vast majority of people in my social circle (late 20s) are slowly loathing social media in general as many have suffered from doomscrolling consequences. No wonder the digital minimalism movement is garnering more and more population each day, because people are simply burnt out from the dopamine content, convincing mentally vulnerable users that everything else is obsolete (especially when you hit a temporary low in your life). As for people stuck on the internet rabbit hole - the reflections of 4chan/Reddit impact are growing larger, especially on the case of acting as a "life guide" to many things, but not actually participating and experiencing those aforementioned things in real life. It's so incredibly easy to act as jack of all trades, but never be the master of one on the internet. Hence, why the internet advices/guides doesn't always work, because most things are subjective, even purchase guides. But people are reluctant to search for guidance on the internet, because it's the most hassle-free tool to have ever existed in humanity's existence. It takes a whole lot of awareness and will to prevent one from spiraling down the rabbit hole that is the internet.Reddit syndrome is becoming a solid concept every passing day.
Right on the mark! Couldn't agree more... I wonder how future generations will view this very interesting era of human history. On the internet? Absolutely. Real life? Doubtful. No. That is not correct. The Game has three Main-Story:Game was first posted here in August of 2016 and the finale of the main story was released in March of 2021, so roughly 5 years of development. We are already in the 4th year of tech update hell and it is nowhere near to being finished. So yea the developing time for the rework will easily surpass the time it took to make the original.
It is not enough. Every game-developer focus on next update, not update in a few month or years. He must be focus on Debby and his storyline, not for weird restaurants for an update in months or years.I had been scrubbing through the streams, so I expected this, but still.

I don't trust links posted by random users on this forum. I will wait for the OP to be updated. Those links are usually safer.legit ?
3-30k? For this? No wonder he's stringing everybody along. Hell, if I had that many people just throwing money at me while also coming to my defense for every excuse I could come up with, I'd do exactly the same thing. Why bother trying when I can be set for life doing less than half the work I did prior?DC has no reason to release more content.
