DC's response to those worries from his own lead coder were "Well we could move to releases once every 4 months?".
Wonder what backgrounds he's going to waste time on next update? Maybe DC will need to draw an entire new men's clothing store so MC can buy a suit. Draw a new stock room and sales assistant to be used in an update pending 3 years from now.
It's amazing to think that "every 4 months" was once enough for an entire storyline update for a single character, including animations, bespoke locations, and massive code overhauls. DC's drop in output the last few years has honestly been astonishing. In 2018 alone, we got:
- The teacher update with Bissette, Okita, Dewitt, and Ross;
- Roxxy and her friends (still the best update he's released);
- The completely reworked Diane update, including the pregnancy system; and
- Consuela and the beach house
Now we're 8 months into a rework of Debbie with at least one more update before he finishes, and possibly not even until the end of the year. The Diane and Roxxy reworks are still looming, too, since he's absolutely going to decide to implement the latter's pregnancy when he looks at her art for more than two seconds.
