You can choose to spoonfeed pablum. That is your choice.
I choose to show people they can easily find the answers themselves - thus the next time they have a question, instead of relying on "the kindness of strangers" - they can rely on the person they should trust the most... themselves.

The answer they were looking for was literally the active conversation on the page they asked their question on and previous the page. And the developer put together a pretty succinct response on their download page - that is open to the public.

And your "pad their patreon" is a wrong answer. But thank you for playing.
That's dumb as hell. They asked. You didn't answer. All you did was waste time.

All you've done is taught people not to trust you to be helpful even if that was objectively the easier path for you to take.

And it's cool they have a useful page with all the answers. Maybe you could have just linked that? The passive aggressive jab just makes you seem like a tool.

And their rework that utilizes AI rather than paying an artist is definitionally padding their patreon. It's functionally no new content and lower costs w/o the cost or effort of an actual artist. But thank you for paying sucker.

Why do people even bother to respond to questions with "do your own research" tier garbage non answers like this? If you are going to waste the time on writing any response surely a succinct one like "the devs are rereleasing the game to pad their patreon" would have been both more helpful and shorter.
Possibly because these questions have been answered MANY many times. A lot of people log in and ask their question without doing a search or reading any of the thread they seem to have an interest in. You say they are wasting time not answering your question and they say you are wasting time waiting for someone to answer your question which has already been answered rather than trying to find it yourself - failing ...then asking your question.

He did not release any thing for over two years.
what happened during those two years is still a mystery to me. was he barely working at all? because when he released the first version of the tech update it had barely anything in it in terms of content. was he just drawing backgrounds for two whole years? what were the coders and posing guys doing?

It's so nice to leave for a few months and then come back and knowing that nothing has changed. Except for this. The fact that nothing has changed or updated for this game is nothing short of incompetence. (For me at least.) My guess is that DC will say that he's "running into some issues" and that the next tech update that'll give us three updated sex scenes has to be delayed. I'd say mid September for the next update? Considering we're still 5 years out before DC even gets back to the 2.0.16 amount of content, one thing is for sure, this tread has more content than the actual game.

Isnt the next update due on the 31st of this month though?

We've only gotten bits and pieces of the full story through Discord lurkers, so but it goes roughly like this (with a large grain of salt):

- DC announces that the Tech Update won the poll (whether he rigged it or not is up to how thick your tinfoil hat is) and starts drawing backgrounds. He expects it will only take a few months since backgrounds are the only things to convert so the team simultaneously hires a bunch of temporary help for posing, and he also puts together some pre-tech work to tide over his patrons.

- DC takes way longer than expected to draw the backgrounds, nearly a year. Much of the temp help, who sat on their hands with nothing to do, quietly left since the pre-tech work wasn't enough to justify their time.

- DC's team starts integrating the widescreen backgrounds and quickly discovers that a) much of the code is a spaghettified mess being held together with duct tape and spit, and b) there are a ton of drawn assets that were improperly labeled or outright missing. A basic swap to widescreen with the existing assets is no longer feasible.

- The full nightmare begins. The horrible workflow of DC's team means that everybody is seemingly dependent on everybody else to get things done. The coder has to supervise the posing team since they're hopelessly outmatched, the posing team keeps finding mistakes in the art that need correcting, and DC has to correct assets before they can be properly posed. And all of this takes hours longer than it should because everyone is spread across multiple timezones around the globe.

- At some point DC makes the fatal decision to just remaster the entire game. Now cutscenes have to be drawn to widescreen in addition to backgrounds and every character that wasn't already on the rig system or has outdated art needs to be converted. And while you're at it, might as well add pregnancy and some additional scenes, too.

There is at least a chance that things will speed up a bit once they get past Debbie since we've found a lot of non-implemented work in the current builds, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Who's wasting time by asking? Do you think they just sit on the page, refreshing, and holding their breath? They ask, they move on, they come back when they get a notification that they have an answer.

The only one wasting time in this scenario is the one that spends the time to write out a message that contains no useful info while acting holier than thou. They waste their own time and the askers.

The last "update" was delayed. So if this time he comes out with the update on schedule ( i doubt it ) i has to be on 01.08.25. In fact the release date on his site is stated as 31.07.25 in less than three days. Again what the dev states and what he does are two different things so ...

That's a bummer.
But come to think about it, the Latest version was released exactly Two Months after the Previous version. So it's not really a "delay". I'm actually more surprised if the new version going to be released this week.

For informational purposes, on 30 April 2024, DC's Patreon message said:
If testing goes well, we hope to release the first build towards the end of the coming month (May).... Our current goal is to aim for a release cadence of roughly 2 months, starting with the initial release.
And these are the release dates since then:
: 31 May 2024
: 31 Jul 2024
: 27 Sep 2024 (very few made any comments that he released 3 days sooner)
: 30 Nov 2024 (w/hotfix 2 days later)
: 31 Jan 2025 (w/hotfixes 12 hours later and 2 days later)
: 31 Mar 2025 (w/hotfix 1 day later)
: 02 Jun 2025 (and a bunch of people jeered him for releasing 2 days later)
