Then you're being dishonest about both.I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for someone to bring up Star Citizen. I happen to think the parallels between the development of that game and the development of this one are kind of obvious.
Both are examples of projects that, at least to anyone not actually working on them, seem to be suffering from the same problems: feature creep, overly ambitious design, stuff like that.
And the same criticisms (and defenses) are being thrown around for both games, too.
Star Citizen gets millions off a promise of a tech demo while this one has been built and released on what it actually promises. It gives you new story with the characters, the side characters are updated considerably, and with it being 40ish percent done, you really can't say that it's "overly ambitious" when the games own origins is that it was a way for DC to learn how to code.
No, the criticisms aren't the same nor the supposed defenses. That's just not looking at them holistically.
