At least you know it's loading, pre-0.20.10/11 without the splash screen, most people just assumed Summertime crashed/was trolling them instead of *gasp* waiting a bit. Guess it has more to do with people being hot garbage than the game's fault though

Lol ? Are you really comparing a pre-rendered 3D asset swap game that uses movies for scenes to a 100% hand-drawn game and pretend they're the same kind of game ? And you hope people won't point and laugh ? While also hoping no1 else came out with the same failfest in the last 4+ years ? Really ?
This game's production values have become insane. Quality hand drawn animation is very, very expensive. That's why most western animation studios switched to bad looking Flash animation like 20 years ago.
Last time, the reason they "added" staff was to boost the production and speed up the process between updates, what we got was a slower and more lacking content. Ever since the backing on patreon got huge, output has gone downhill, hence why i stopped on it. It's understandable why other people would be frustrated with waiting half/more than half a year to play the game in just 1 hour of content. I myself just wait for updates and not focus on guarding the progress bar.
This is an out right lie. DC and his team consistently put updates every four to five months with five or six H scenes since the teacher update which was before they were making 15,000 on Patreon. Also the only updates that lack content or took to long were the Diane and the third part main story update because of the birth of his children.
Last part of the main story, which also happens to be a 3rd parter spanning over a year and whose main goal was to conclude the entire main route, who also included ~10 new girls with plenty of scenes each*
If only she needed to win a poll she lost at least 2x to have her route remade ...... And if only people would wish for stuff not answered a few dozen times a month for the last ~4 years
